Publisher's summary

The king of Vitoria is dead, leaving only a squabbling council of noblemen to rule. Now, the vicious Zhedian horde gathers, an uncountable swarm of warriors and Hell-spawned creatures of nightmare. Under the rule of the cruel King Mortegrim, the dark hosts march on Vitoria's stronghold city of Knevermoore. For Gedrick, past his prime and days of valor, the coming war brings summons from Lord Rendell of Knevermoore, brother of his dead wife and no friend of the aging warrior. Gedrick thought his battles finished, but now the bloody horn is sounding once more. He cannot ignore the call. He is Gedrick, the Soulcutter, champion of Vitoria, wielder of the demon spear. One last time, the Dark Spearman marches to war. For Fel, denied his dreams of following in the footsteps of his heroic father by an impure bloodline, the coming war means nothing but the destruction of a nobility he despises. That all changes when fate crosses his path with Avera, a warrior maiden pursued by demonic creatures as she searches for a secret temple of mystics to aid her father, the Lord of Knevermoore, against King Mortegrim's host. Fel is no noble, no hero like his dead father, but fate seems to have other ideas.

Complete Surprise

Where does Walls of Knevermoore rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

top ten

What did you like best about this story?

A plot that seemed to twist out of nowhere! You think you have an pretty good idea of what's going on and - WHAM - Grigor Weeks blows your mid. Awesome!

What about C.J. McAllister’s performance did you like?

Actually, his voice took some getting used to at first. But it doesn't detract from the story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Okay - I admit it . . . I cried once, maybe twice. But I laughed often. Great use of dark and light humor throughout.

Any additional comments?

The setting is medieval, the morals are shifty, and the characters are realistic. I can relate to every POV of every character in some way, and they all have their own flaws. Grigor has serious talent in crafting a world and believable characters. I believe he is an independent author, and maybe that is how he wants it, but I think it's a damn shame he hasn't had a shot a some of the big publicity offered by the major publishers. He has a number of short stories on Amazon, but they are not his best work. Maybe a shot at more name recognition? Doesn't matter, because I will support this guy for as long as he writes books, Walls of Knevermoore sent chills down my spine - in a good way. I am hooked. Forget the short stories and keep writing novels, Grigor. I promise to keep buying your books as long as you keep them coming.
