I just wanted to let off some steam in virtual reality and ended up getting murdered and imprisoned in the body of one of the undead - slow, clumsy, and cursed to die at the hand of other players over and over again. The only way out of this awful predicament was to find the legendary Scroll of Rebirth, but the helpless plague-ridden corpse would need to be turned into a real killing machine. Phenomenal as usual!
Everytime you think you've got it all figured out he hits you with another one. This book was just great. The character development was amazing and watching the interplay at such a high level is amazing.
The voice actor is really spot on and brings a ton of emotion to the performance. Well done!

Author needs a personal cheat sheet to keep up with details he adds.
The story itself was enjoyable, and while I enjoy all the new skill and loot additions throughout the series, these additions are meaningless if they are then neglected for the rest of the series. Hunter seems to forget many of the features he himself added. Like, for instance, MC still using pm’s in frantic situations instead of the commander’s communication skill faction unlock, and damage skill damage info ignoring effects like his innate boost to those skills etc. More grievously, the entire previous book was centered around a certain item set and the moral dilemmas involved with its collection, only to have the max set bonus completely ignored in this book. These are just a couple of a growing number of misses. While these by no means ruin the books, it’s highly disappointing considering this a series in a genre that revolves around the RPG elements like the effects of skills, abilities, and loot/gear.

The coffee joke is getting old.
It feels like every 10 chapters there is a two to three paragraph gushing about how much the MC loves coffee. the joke stopped being funny in book 2. It takes me out of the world every time this happens.
Secondly the MC makes blatantly bad decisions but everyone talks about how smart he is. Not the best book in the series so far.
