Not the worst book

Besides the main character being the eternal victim she is also the most unlikely person to survive the EMP. It also appears that the author knows nothing about firearms or their use. A really bad story line.

Fought to get through it.. .

The narrator was robotic. The story was "out there". I usually enjoy this type of book... but this one was just. UGH.

Different take on an EMP incident

Being a mother, I can relate to many aspects of the main character. Her momma bear instincts come out with just the right amount of doubt in her abilities. She makes hard decisions based solely on her 'family first' mentality. It's not my favorite book in this genre, but it was a nice change in pace.
