Great story, new narrator doesnt work for Snoe or

Would you consider the audio edition of Snoe's War to be better than the print version?

Absolutely not the change in the narrator ruined it. The narrator simply does not fit the character line built up of Snoe. Actually made me feel like my ears were going to bleed or someone was scratching on chalkboard and was monotone at times.

I simply dont understand why the need to switch narrators in a series of books when the reader gets used to the narrator. Is it to save money? This narrator simply sounded like she out aged Snoe and was boring. She did not sound like what Snoe would be like as a the reader built her up. Snoe was an 18 yr old petite mighty yet shy strong willed person as the first narrator Laura Stahl brought forth.

What other book might you compare Snoe's War to and why?

I cant because I was distracted by the narration.

How could the performance have been better?

Dont change narrator's? That is a given. Laura Stahl did a fine job of defining Snoe this one not.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Great book series I always do and had they not changed narrators I would have. I had to do this in pieces cuz the performance to the book was irritating. Books should bring out emotions but they should be enjoyable especially if you like the series.

Already done big fail in switching narrators the last 2 books.

Disappointed in the narration

The change in narrator was just too drastic. I love the story but it just was not a good match.

Sins of the Father! (or Mother?)

Much is made throughout the first two volumes about Snoe’s lineage. While this has been a personal conflict for Snoe, not wanting to be defined by her parent’s notoriety, I don’t see where it affected the direction of the story one way or the other. Snoe has more problems dealing with her personal guilt over having to kill humans. She counted them like an Old West gunslinger. Snoe is rather weak when it comes right down to it. Her attacks on Major Carson and the train were the first signs of mettle I had seen from her. Dominique Dubois was way too accessible IMO. People around Snoe begin to trust in her but Snoe is unconvinced. The next volume may lead to a final showdown in Irony but I’m not sure where this will go at this time. The narrator, Jodi Bricker was much more captivating than the previous narrator. I’m glad Brown switched.

Fantastic story.Its easy to get caught up in the action and the interesting characters. Cant wait for the final installment.

As for narration, it was disappointing that the narrator was different than in the previous Snoe book. this voice did not really match with what Ihad built up as Snoe nor what the previous narrator gave us. I spent time just wishing it was the other narrator because this voice sounded too mature and dull for a teen/young adult like Snoe. that said, it was a pretty good flow from beginning to end so aftwrgetting over the change, I was still able to enjoy the overall experience.
