Publisher's summary

Tisiphone loves spending her days playing poker in the underworld, far away from mortals and all the trouble they cause - and all the terrible mistakes they make. Unfortunately for this goddess, her sister Alecto has vanished in Las Vegas - and the gods of Olympus believe only Tisi can find her and bring her back. To make matters worse, they force her to partner up with a mortal: recently deceased FBI agent Archer Mays. With all these challenges, how can a Fury keep her temper?

On their quest to track down the missing goddess, Tisi and Archer battle danger, demons, and even their simmering attraction to one another - until a sinister plot unfolds that could devastate humans and gods alike. Now, Tisiphone must set everything right within a few days, or find herself trapped in the mortal world she despises...forever.

Pretty good story here!

Would you listen to Sin City Goddess again? Why?

Yes, because it was pretty interesting. It was a quick listen-to and kept me entertained the majority of the time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sin City Goddess?

That was probably after Archer and Tisi solved the case and he's standing before the Graces. They're telling him that he'll now be known as a demi-god and it was easy to imagine the look on his face. lol

Have you listened to any of Valerie Gilbert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to several of Valerie's performances and still have more to go through. Valerie usually does a pretty great job with her narrations. The only issue I had with her in this story was that there were times throughout the story where Tisi's voice seemed to change, like it would sound one way a majority of the time but there were smaller times throughout where she sounded different.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I ended up listening to this over a period of about a week. I like listening to audiobooks while I'm outside exercising, hence the amount of time it took. If I had just been listening to this normally, like when I sit down to read a book, then it probably would have been finished in a single sitting.

Any additional comments?

This was a pretty good story. I didn't really have any issues, except two scenes that had me questioning something. So Tisi and Archer were able to have sex in the shower with no problems. Meaning her wings didn't get in the way or anything even when Archer turned her around quickly and slammed her against the shower wall. BUT when it came to her going in an elevator she couldn't because she didn't think there was enough room for her wings. Huh? A shower is usually smaller than an elevator.

Mythology made fun

Loved listening to this story, mythology with a contemporary twist filled with suspense, laugh out loud moments and a touch of sexy, ending in a HEA. Tisi is my fave kind of heroine, sassy and fearless and Archer is the perfect partner for her, sexy, protective and loyal. Ms. Gilbert brought the story to life and I loved listening to her telling it, her voice was perfect for it. Looking forward to the next story.

Fun and sexy!

This was a fun and sexy book. Loved the different view on the Greek gods. I've read a lot of books with variations of the Greek mythology as it is one of my favorites and this book definitely has a new and different spin on it.

The characters are funny and likable, well except for those two. You'll know whom when you listen to it. But you're not supposed to like them anyway.

The narration is excellent and enhanced the story. I will be checking out other books by this narrator and author.

This book was gifted to me and my review is freely given.

Exciting PNR

This is a new author and narrator to me. I enjoyed the story and the narrator. Loved the mixture of action and romance. Enjoyed trying to put the puzzle pieces together to find the unseen answer.

A fun, almost naughty read!

Would you consider the audio edition of Sin City Goddess to be better than the print version?

For me, I enjoy listening and Valerie Gilbert's voice is perfect!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sin City Goddess?

The interaction between Tisi and Archer. Fun, FUN!

What about Valerie Gilbert’s performance did you like?

I like the mischief and strength of Tisi she brings to the story. Her voice was wonderful!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Bringing Mythology to life in a way you never imagined!

Any additional comments?

This book was wonderful at distracting me from my own personal stuff I have going on. It was fun and light-hearted. The dark humor kept me laughing! I have a new favorite author!

Different!

myths-legends, urban-fantasy, las-vegas, casino, law-enforcement, action-adventure, supernatural, not-quite-horror
Read in September, 2016

There's murder, suspense, humor, a few ghosts, torture, fantasy, and a bit of Greek mythology, all against a backdrop of Las Vegas. I really enjoyed this mix of elements knit together with skill, imagination, and a humor. The publisher's blurb is adequate, no spoilers here.
I got this on audio performed by Valerie Gilbert, and her interpretation was spectacular! I think she made this book even better!

Greek mythology + Vegas + crime

This book was interesting. Author tried to bring Greek gods into modern life. One in particular, fairy to solve a human crime. A reader gets "not that pretty" view of real Las Vegas life.

Narrator was very good. Event thought, she has to cover many characters, she never failed to make them all distinct and entertaining.
