Publisher's Summary

Number six in multiple New York Times best seller Larry Correia's Monster Hunter series.

Go big or go home.

When Monster Hunter International's top hunter, Owen Zastava Pitt, was given a tip about some hunters who had gone missing in action, he didn't realize their rescue mission would snowball into the single biggest operation in MHI's history. Their men are being held prisoner in a horrific nightmare dimension, and the only way to reach them is through the radioactive ruins of a monster-infested war zone.

As if that wasn't bad enough, it's also the home base of the powerful creature behind the devastating attacks on the Last Dragon and Copper Lake. It turns out ancient gods of chaos really hate trespassers. But this god picked a fight with the wrong crew, and now MHI wants payback. Calling on their allies, a massive expedition is formed, and with the odds stacked against them, a legion of hunters goes to war.

It's D-Day at the City of Monsters.

The series just keeps getting better

Mr. Correia keep the theme of the series intact, character development is more solid each entry. I was sad to see the Grimnoir series end after only three books, but know that the author is involved in so many projects the wait for the next MHI installment is frustrating. Hope he can rededicate himself to this series for a while so the next installment comes out sooner. I don' think he makes any royalties each time I reread the earlier releases. As usual the dialogue is entertaining and
Mr. Wyman does his usual award quality narrating. Oh, lots of new guns and monsters in ''tis one as well. Sometimes I worry about how scary the inside of the authors head s to bring the monsters and alternate dimensions to such vivid life. Thanks again Mr. Correia for the enjoyment your stories bring. Now I will read the hard cover edition which I actually got just before the audible edition came out.

Author Turned Farmer

This installment of the MHI series is okay. It continues the story, further setting up the final showdown between Z & his destiny. Except that it feels more like filler, lacking substance, & rather than adding depth to the central plot, this installment's purpose seems to be similar to that of a wine press. However, rather than squeezing grapes to make juice to make wine to drink, MHI: Siege squeezes bank accounts to make $$$ to make the author richer. Perhaps Correia (according to the author himself it should be pronounced Korea, like the country, & according to me, not Coheeah, as pronounced in the intro & end credit by Audible) is too busy authoring & coauthoring installments for his many other series, & thus fulfilling his seeming goal of becoming a famous, ultra prolific & exceedingly wealthy author, to give this book the attention it deserved.
Correia, of late, seems to be indulging in over-farming the MHI franchise. Both Memoirs books were supersaturated gratuitously with foul language, little substance & read more like fan fiction than anything actually written by the man who had authored the main plot MHI books. Left me wondering how much had been written by Correia & how much by his co-author.
I really hope Larry Correia does not continue to farm out his excellent MHI series, or write the first book or three of a new series & then become a James Patterson hack who puts his name on other books but actually has little to do with.
All previous 5 main story books of MHI were fantastic. However, after reading Nemesis, Siege was a let down.
Typical shoot 'em up excitement, if less frequently, not much new added to the story arc, very little resolution, predictable ending, no Franks except for a few mentions of his name, a Harbinger who does nothing worth mentioning, a wimpy Julie, & cameo appearances by Mosh, Ed, Trip & other main supporting characters, a fairly flat storyline, failure to pronounce the author's name correctly even once, so-so narration due to the limited range of the reader, an anticlimactic showdown featuring a 'Friday the 13th' type ending between what should/could have been the most bad*ss villain in all 6 books thus far & Z, & a "Huh? That's it? Really?!" book ending left me very disappointed with Nemesis. I really hope book 7 is written by the real Larry Correia.

MHI is back

it is either that it's been awhile since the last book or this was just a great listen. Probably both. I did not realize how much I missed MHI until I started book 6, a very entertaining 15 hours and worth every minute.

I hate being led on ...

to wait for another 1,or 2 years. The monster Hunter series is most awesome. I recommend buying all of them. Its annoying in to have to wait for each book to release.

Finally the real deal!

This book takes us back to the original crew . Though the collaborations on the spin offs were great this installment was well overdue.

Where is the incredible newbie squad?

I listened to this whole book almost non-stop, but missed Trip and Holly's involvement. A good chunk of the book has them missing without giving any spoilers away.

I still enjoyed the story, which takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. I will even admit to getting a little teary eyed with "the Destroyer's" involvement with Owen. Everyone knew that back story was coming in this book, but wow.

My biggest gripe now is that I have to wait for the next book to be released to find out the conclusion... it's worth the wait though, because I have the rest of the series to RE-read.

Never Misses the mark

small cliff hanger. Another piece of the puzzle as this master piece builds book by book.
Narrator is a perfect fit pro.
START FROM THE BEGINNING .
