Publisher's Summary

It is the time of the great elven city of Cormanthor, when the Heartlands are home to barbarians, wicked dragons rule the skies, and the elven people trust no one. Wizards and warriors alike threaten their civilization in vain, arrogant, and ignorant quests for glory.

Thus it was that Elminster was guided to Cormanthor, the Towers of Song, where Eltargrim was Coronal. There he dwelt for 12 summers and more, studying with many mighty mages, learning to feel magic and know how it could be bent and directed to his will.... It is recorded that when the Mythal was laid, and Cormanthor became Myth Drannor, Elminster was among those who devised and spun that mighty magic.

Really Nice

Would you consider the audio edition of Elminster in Myth Drannor to be better than the print version?

I think John Pruden is one of the best narrators for Forgotten Realms. He slow diliberate approach sounds really good. Especially, coming from hearing his Erevis Cale work. I willing seek out his and Bevine's work.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Elminster in Myth Drannor?

It was quick but seeing how Cormanthyr actually became Myth Drannor. I didn't have a full grasp except that the Elf were running the joint.

Which scene was your favorite?

Favorite scene was Elminster walking into another Wizard's domain and wrecking shop. Made El seem like a bad ass.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Trials of Elminster. It really is that. He continues to grow and learn from the guidance of Mystra.

Any additional comments?

I truly didn't think I would like this book in the series. I did not have an affinity for Myth Drannor because we all kind of knew what was going to happen in the end... making of the weave. But, sometimes the journey is greater than the destination and this was the case.

Great Book! Elminster in Myth Drannor

Have you listened to any of John Pruden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Oky Doky, Elminster: The Making of a Mage: Forgotten Realms: Elminster, Book 1 was a so so reading by John Pruden, but in book 2 of this series he got into it and did a much better job. not Outstanding, but I think he did a much better reading this time, lets hope Book 3 of the series is the smack down winner!

Any additional comments?

Just about one of the best series of books from the Forgotten Realms books. not a lot to say except it will be worth every penny of any amount you pay for this series IMO

Not bad

Not as good as the first book but still worthwhile.
Story doesnt seem as coherent and flow at times messy. Setting is nice as it takes a place in a historical event of Faerun.

not as good as the first book but still interestin

the first book seemed much longer with a fun action packed story. this book was slow with a lot of dialog and some what boring interactions. this is clearly a character building book.

I always enjoy most anything Dungeons & Dragons related but the Elminster series is so fun and always full of so much life and an emotion.

Amazing book

Loved it from start to finish! Good follow up to making of a mage. I can't wait to listen to the next book in the series.
