Publisher's Summary

The news is full of disturbing events today. There's war and rumors of war. There's the false recovery of the economy. Faith in the US economy is extremely low. Foreign banks have either slowed their purchases of Treasury Bonds or, in a few cases, begun unloading them. We have a current election that is rife with corruption, extreme partisanship, and outright fraud. It would appear the left in the country is ready to do about anything to see their candidate elected. While this is very concerning today, what does it mean to the election process as a whole? What will the next one look like? Does anyone believe they will actually improve? Or will the next batters up to the ultimate home plate simply make it even worse, take it even further down the rabbit hole?

In reality, it matters not who wins. They can be there for only eight years. But the election sets the precedent for the next one, and the next one will push the limits even further, if there is one.

We've all heard of the spooky bank holiday. This sort of thing usually happens on a weekend, and on Monday morning you simply cannot access your account. You have no access to your money. Don't think it can happen? Neither did the people of Greece. Or Germany when they were limited to 50 euros a day. What would you do? Do you keep cash on hand? Do you trust your bank? If you put $20,000 into the bank and then ask for $10,000 back, you have to fill out forms and justify your need for it. Then they tell the government about it, and you face further sanctions. Here in America, we think we're free. Well, we are currently listed as number 20 on the scale of freedom. Think about that. Number 20! Chile is ahead of us! But we have our guns, and all of those other countries don't. And indeed we do, for now. But what if they were to take those away? What do we do then? And before you say you would take to the streets and fight back, think for a minute what that really means. Then watch a few videos on Syria or Ukraine. It's all fun and games until someone puts a tank main-gun round through your house. What follows is just one idea of what this could look like. I'm not saying this is the way it would go. It's just some thoughts on it. On how people could act. What the government may do in response and how people might respond in turn.

Great new saga!

I have listened to all of the survivor series by this author and narrator. It took a bit to get into this book and get on board with the direction it was going. This is a different view on the collapse of our nation but just as with the "Home" series it is a viable and surreal tale of what our reality could easily become. Love the narrator- I hope Duke Fontaine continues to represent this author's voice.

Give me a reason to care about these people.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The main character, Daniel, seemed to be the least developed of an entire group of underdeveloped characters. Had I been part of this group, I would have left out of sheer boredom.

What could A. American have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Character development, likable and/or interesting characters, and a more compelling story.

Which character – as performed by Duke Fontaine – was your favorite?

Gene, I suppose, as he was the most skillful of the group.

Do you think Cry Havoc needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, I don't see this one going anywhere. I hope he doesn't try to make a series out of it. It just feels like the author was trying to make a book out of a story that just wasn't there.

Any additional comments?

I read most of the Going Home series, and most of those books were better than this one. If I had to buy it again, I wouldn't.

Finally A New Storyline

A. American has created a believable, fresh, storyline! This is a story that is creative and realistic. Without giving the story away, this story takes the listener down a new path. This is not just another cookie cutter story with the names and places changed. I think this story will appeal to a wider group of listeners too. The narrator did a great job of keeping your interest and the development of each character. Well worth the credit! Looking forward to more stories like this!

Creative EOTWAWKI

I quit writing reviews on EOTWAWKI books... got tired of saying negative things. That said the narration and audio was rough... but it was a clever and creative situation with a fresh perspective and interesting mix of characters. I enjoyed it. There is obviously a second book coming... but it wasn't an annoying cliff hanger and was long enough that I didn't feel cheated out of a credit. Nice work Mr. AA. I also really enjoyed The Dog Star and Sunfall recently, so there have been some better offerings in the EOTWAWKI library.

Once Again A. American and The duke Succeeded !

Would you consider the audio edition of Cry Havoc to be better than the print version?

I am the original Audible addict so I only listen.

What did you like best about this story?

I am a firm believer in the story lines based on our great nations economic downfall, I mean
it is headed there quickly and the damage will be instantly felt! I mean just imagine Dallas Texas on a Friday evening when most folks go shopping or Sat morning even and they all of the sudden come to the reality that their debit, credit or EBT cards fail. It would be all out chaos and violence would ensue with out a doubt.

Have you listened to any of Duke Fontaine’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The Duke is one of my favorite narrators, he has that earthy voice just like so many guys I grew up with, its a good down home sound and when he says he loves sweet tea you know he means it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the feds came through and started shooting people ! You don't want to think it s possible for our own government to allow this to happen, but yes I am one of THOSE
people that believes not only can it happen ! It will Happen!

Any additional comments?

A. American - I am thrilled to see you had the gang head for Texas or as we call it ,The Chosen Land! Your books keep on inspiring me and I was thrilled to see Home Invasion just hit my Audible account, I am downloading as we speak! Keep up the great stories.
Viva La Sweet Tea

Another great informative story from A.American

I enjoyed the survivalist series & was hoping that this would be as good. It is. Lots of good info if you listen carefully. The only things that spoilt it a little were that "Daniel" is a bit slow on the uptake & a bit more character history would be good. I am happy to recommend this book to anyone who is interested in how our world may change in time
