Just...ok

This was not what I was expecting at all from a post-apocalyptic book. It was so slow and not much actually happened. The ending was leading to a more interesting book two, but it'll probably be more of the same, so I'll skip it.

Okay to pass the time

This book wasn’t what I thought it would be. It’s very slow paced. The characters, story, and narrator were okay though. The ending alluded to a possible book 2 but unfortunately this book didn’t setup enough interest or action that makes me anticipate another book.

Couldn't put it down

I loved this book. I really did. I think the publishers description/Summery is accurate. I like that it is in Australia as most of the apococolypse books I have found are based in USA, or Britain. I really loved the concept and really everything about it. Listened to it within two days. Just couldn't stop. I wish there was a second book.

Great Plot

I wish I could find another book like this. This was so good. I enjoyed this so much. The way the flu was portrayed was so well done.

COVID before it was announced

I really enjoyed the story line. The difference in people who prep, who are preppers and those who are neither and the reaction and responses as a result. I am really impressed by the fact that this was released when COVID was 1st announced, therefore written way previously.

Slow and unfinished

The Story was a bit of a crawl and the ending left undone. I guess it was going to have a sequel but 6 years later there isn't one. Was a waste of time in my opinion.

It was a good setup…but…

I know everyone has to write series now instead of just one book. It’s annoying but that’s life. This book felt like maybe half of one book. So in other words, it was waaaay too long for what we got. Nothing much happens after the pandemic hits. They just sort of live and talk about future living. There was too much lamenting of their situation and many unnecessary things thrown in there, like a dog being lost in some bushes for a little while. I grew weary. I’m not at all curious as to what happens next.

to short would love to have heard alot more of the story line and love to hear more of the town

Good storyline, fairly easy to follow.

The story starts off slow introducing the main character and her life pre-pandemic. As it hits and she is faced with the reality that everything has changed.
Then she decides to go back to her hometown and family. There are many new characters introduced and the writer does it without making it sound like a soap opera.

The Main Character is Annoying

I was very annoyed by the characters complete ignorance! They don’t mask up and they don’t social distance, They don’t realize they can syphon gas. They are just so unprepared and dense.
