Publisher's summary

Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places - and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shape-shift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind. But this new vampire is hardly ordinary - and neither is the demon inside of him.

Have Mercy: listen to another Mercy Thompson chiller.

Didn't want to stop driving...

This was my second book in the Mercy Thompson series and I was not disappointed in the least with it. There's a new vampire in town and he's brought a demon with him. The plot involves both the local wolf pack and the vampire seethe, even getting some of the fae involved. But it is Mercy's ability to speak to ghosts that is in high demand. We find Mercy tracking a demon/vampire who brutally killed others and even though she was scared she didn't let that stop her from fighting, I found myself holding my breath along with her as she went into each scary situation and eventually she saves the day and her friends. I loved the story, love the series and as I am writing this am downloading book 3 in the series, Iron Kissed. Lorelei King is once again an amazing narrator

Excellent overall, but the cadence can be wearing

Ms King tend to occasionally favor a habitual cadence over a more natural read, which I personally find annoying, but a part from that it is very well performed, and one of my comfort reads to boot.

Why?

Why is it that most books with a female lead always have a fling with at least 2 guys they can’t decide between? I find it so irritating when the book is interesting on its own merit without the flippant nature of the main character. If the roles were reversed and it was a male lead that went around kissing and leading on different girls, they would come off as a pig. Yet it’s one of the most common themes with a female lead. For that reason alone I am not going to continue with this series. If that is something that doesn’t bother you, the storyline otherwise is good.

Great listening, great story

The Mercy Thompson series is wonderful and this audio version does not disappoint. Lorelei King bring Mercy to life and I even found the male voices well done, even the Italian accent that belongs to Stephan and his seethe.

so good I couldn't stop listening!

Better than the first one. So good I just had to write my first review! I think I listened to the whole thing with very little breaks. I am now addicted to this series! The narration was very good too.

Good series, but I've heard better

Where does Blood Bound: Mercy Thompson, Book 2 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm kinda picky, but I've enjoyed them. Haven't been too impressed by the writers abilities, but it has been simple and enjoyable.

What other book might you compare Blood Bound: Mercy Thompson, Book 2 to and why?

Erm... A much better written version of Twilight? But twilight sets the bar low. No where near as good as Dresden files, but enjoyable.

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

... ... Another take on the same old story. It was enjoyable, I did enjoy it, but it was not that complex, there was not very many new ideas

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

...no

Quite enjoyable!

Where does Blood Bound: Mercy Thompson, Book 2 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've head the 1st book in the series and really enjoyed it. This one was even better because I've already met most of the charactors and know the relationship to Mercy.

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

She made it easy to identify with each charactor by giving them their own voice.
