Publisher's Summary

The Imperials have devised a cunning new method of destroying Rebel worlds. Captain Leo Blake is largely responsible for both our survival and our current predicament. He and his crew are infamous among the stars. As a result, when ships of an unknown configuration begin flowing out of swirling rifts above Earth, Blake is called upon again to deal with the problem.

But the approaching fleet isn't what it seems. They're employing an entirely new way to exterminate Rebels. They will accept nothing less than conquering Earth - or, better yet, destroying all life on our planet.

Alpha Fleet is the third book in the Rebel Fleet series.

The best of the Rebel Fleet series

A great beginning and the goodness just keeps going. This is certainly the best thus far in this Rebel Fleet series it's what I expect from B.V Larson thank you it's as good as early Star Force and Undying Mercenaries which is high marks in my opinion.

I am liking this series so far!

I love B. V. Larson and Mark Boyett. Together they make a great duo. Mr. Larson's story writing abilities keep me engaged and interested as well as invested in the story and characters. Mark does a fantastic job of bringing the many characters to life and he is one of my favorite narrators.

Not as much fun this time around

There were just too many times I had to shake my head at the stupidity of a guy that is supposed to be so clever and be a captain of the ship. This is almost like a Monty python skit. I know it is a bit of tongue in the cheek but too much for me.

Meh. Recycled characters & plots.

The Rebel Fleet series I felt are not as well written as the Undying Mercenaries series. Character development and plot development are too recycled from previous books by the author. Head to Undying Mercenaries for better use of credits. Thankful that audible will let me return for my credits back.

A huge dissappointment

Overall I do enjoy Larson's works but Alpha Fleet is an exception. I can't state why that is without spoilers. I will say that with most stories I have no problem adapting the mind set that allows all the amazing things that tech and abilities let the characters achieve. Something that certainly turns me off is outright silliness and illogical behavior (even for the universe the story is set in). Also too much repetition of said silliness. KEEP EVENTS PLAUSIBLE! Alpha fleet may have turned me off to the series. However Mark Boyett's narration was perfect as always.

not bad

the first 2 books were better in my opinion, but this book wasn't bad, just a very slow starting book once you get to around chapter 40 it picks up like the first 2 book did

A great addition to the series.

This installment really moves the story line forward. The first 3/4 of the book are pretty much the kind of trouble you would expect from Leo Blake the fast talking rogue. The last quarter and the ending were very good at clarifying where the plot is going and humanity's place in that universe. I will wait anxiously for the next installment.

good fun

a bit heavy on the Kirk style of banging anything that is female....but high action and suspense that will keep you going.... BV makes a good read that takes unexpected turns, as such, I will keep looking for the next one out...may it come soon!

Disappointing end to an entertaining trilogy

After enjoying the 2 sequels to this book I must say this was the weakest of the 3. The story as a whole seems less thought out and the dialog and characters seem more bland then in the previous 2 books.
