The perfect guy. The perfect date. Utterly disastrous timing.
There might be no such thing as the perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes - all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediately yes. That is until he opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. But there's nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong . . .
. . . unless he can admit he made a mistake. But after one incredible date - possibly the best in living history - Samantha is forced to admit the truth, that any kind of relationship would be impossible. Samantha begs Xavier to forget her. To remember their night together as a perfect moment, as crushing as that may be.
Only no amount of distance or time is nearly enough to forget that something between them. And the only thing better than one perfect memory is to make a life - and even a love - worth remembering

The love story between Xavier and Samantha was raw, vulnerable, and incredibly believable. They fall in love at the worst possible moment, and that made their connection even more powerful. Both characters had so much to lose, and watching them open up to one another was moving and real.
The narration was excellent — it added so much depth and nuance to the characters. I felt every pause, every crack in the voice, every smile. It made the whole experience even more immersive.
If you’re looking for a romance that’s tender, complex, and filled with emotional truth, this one is worth remembering.

I don't live with my parents, but I live very close, and I can recognize being torn between wanting to be there for a loved one and wanting to be there for myself and my own life, too. This book puts that feeling into words perfectly, without ever losing the heart. And still, there is a happy ending.
One of the things I liked about this book was that it didn't avoid the difficult parts. There are millions of books where the conflicts preventing a couple from being together just disappear at first kiss. Not in this book. There is, undoubtedly, love, but there is also a pile of very real obsticles. This book doesn't end at the I love you, instead, it shows that I love you isn't always enough, but it also kinda is everything.
This book was funny, romantic, bittersweet, heartwarming, beautifully written, and had loads of animals. The narration was enjoyable. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
