Publisher's summary

When Miss Coralynn Notley's father barters her off to the first titled gentleman to come along, she realizes she must flee her home or be forced to wed a despicable man. Driven by desperation, she applies for the position of housekeeper at Tanglewood Manor, the home of the handsome Mr. Jonathan Ludlow. The moment Jonathan sees Miss Notley, he is intrigued. She is far too young and inexperienced, yet there is something about her that that inspires a certain hope within him. Does he dare offer her the position of housekeeper or will doing so result in catastrophe?

The Rise...

Quite an unusual premise for a historical romance but it ended w/ a nice little twist that I didn’t see coming! Even though it is a good clean novel, it has plenty of sexual tension & some very nice kisses. 👍👍

I can't remember laughing so much

Not a comedy. Just very funny scenes. LOVED the book. I will read any other books available now or in the future. Great writing and narration. I always like to walk away from anything I spend so much time for as a learning experience. The heroine's personality is wonderful and someone I would love to be like. Lovely story. ❤️

Just like The Fall Of Lord Drayston, this was an excellent and delightfully funny book! I can hardly wait for Book 3 to become available!

Charming!

Although this is not my favorite of the Tanglewood series (I prefer the first and 3rd books more), this is still an fun book. Be sure to listen to The Fall of Lord Drayson” first, as that book had me laughing out loud many a time! I thoroughly enjoy listening to Helen Taylor’s narration - she is utterly delightful!!

Such a lovely Read!

Anderson did such a good job with this story, it's secured a place in my "Read Again" list and I have no plans to take it off anytime soon!

This book is from the Tanglewood series, and I must say that it's probably my favorite one!

Miss Coralynn Notley is such a treasure! She leaves everything she knows behind and starts a new life scared but also curious and excited to begin anew. She adapts quickly to her situation and tries to secure a place for herself in this new world she's dived into; an incredibly brave and admirable thing to do. Especially given the circumstances she had, and the reason for leaving in the first place. She is an incredibly charming character that was so much fun to listen to!

Mr. Jonathan Ludlow was also really intriguing and interesting. At the beginning he's very much seen as a brute, but as time goes on he's actually a very kind and generous man.

Their relationship is also very cute and quirky! Such a cute story, I highly recommend!
