Publisher's Summary

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.

Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She's forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn't enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What's a nice undead girl to do?

Love in vein: bite into more of Jane Jameson's paranormal exploits.

Funny and Fabulous

To beat the winter blues, read these books. The leading lady vamp is hilarious, sarcastic, and clever. Ms. Harper even threw in a ghost grandmother with a very active love life.

Loved it!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs to be better than the print version?

I prefer audio books over print, as I don't have the time to sit down and read, but I can listen while in the car, running errands or doing housework.

What other book might you compare Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs to and why?

Initially it had similarities to the Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood storyline with splashes of Twilight, but I love the comedic element. Jane asks questions I would, and I like her sense of humour... I just love her!

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Funnily enough, I don't feel like she's reading it, I feel like I'm hearing her inner thoughts most times... she's very convincing!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really... probably when she was first turned stands out. I just love the comedic take on the good ole Vampire storyline... most are dark and moody. I like that Jane is being "logical" and I love her sarcastic humour.

Any additional comments?

Again... I just love Jane's character, and her logical and sarcastic outlook at her new lifestyle / undead-style... and I especially liked the idea of the "undead handbook". I can't wait to listen to the next three books!

Loved it!

Any additional comments?

Fun new twist on the whole vampire craze. Characters are flawed and likeable and the narration is spot on. A fun romp through the supernatural!

Fantastic

Every word.

Jane

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, this and all the other books by Molly that I have listened to.

I really, really enjoy this author and this narrator. I had to stop listening with my ear buds at work because people looked at me strangely when I would burst out laughing for no apparent reason.

decent

This story is ok at best. It is funny. The main character became quite irritating to me. I wished they pushed her character more. I found myself wanting her beau to shake the sh!@ out of her... The narrator was very good.

Funny and Addicting

What did you love best about Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs?

The author threw in some of those great thoughts we have about ourselves, but never express. Who hasn't told themselves "did I really just say that"???

What did you like best about this story?

The story flows from start to end. There are no dull spots and I just had to get back to listening as soon as I could. If I had purchased the written book, I never would have put it down!

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

She is easy to listen to. She was able to have different voices for most of the characters and she remembered them from appearance to appearance. Her tone of voice always matched the mood of the book at any one time.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

DEFINITELY!

Thumbs up for narration, thumbs down for content

What did you like best about Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs? What did you like least?

The best thing about this book was the narration and voice of the MC, but unfortunately the story was lacking.

Any additional comments?

There was too much backstory which, I suspected during the listen then confirmed at its end, was unnecessary and unimportant to the plot. The plot was also a bit thin in light of this, though I could see potential if the existing conflicts and twists had been further developed. All in all, for the most part, an interesting listen, but I won't be checking out the follow on books. The narration gets 4 stars and the story only 2.

Imagination and sense of humor!

What did you love best about Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs?

How long has it been since you have laughed out loud, boisterously, reading a book, a book about vampires? This is the one. And Molly Harper is the best hands down. Such wit and creativity in her writing brings you in, immediately and holds you enthralled.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs?

As gruesome as the event should be, Ms Harper makes the scene when Jane is hit by the truck is so tragically funny. And the arrival of Gabriel and his struggle with what's right or wrong, what he should do or what he wants to do....intriguing.

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

Sarcastic with such a good accent. She pulls off the humor the author intends and then some.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

LOL! Sitting on the train laughing out loud...that about says it.

Any additional comments?

I've listened to this one twice, moved on to the second in the series and am ordering #3. this would make a fun TV series.

Would you listen to Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs again? Why?

I might, it was fun, well written.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the characters, loved the humor, thought the book was very well written, and thought out. I would recommend this author and this book. I love stories about the paranormal where the main character is unsuspecting. The best part of the book is the main character, Jane.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Not sure, but she did a bang up job on this one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, but it wasn't possible.
