Publisher's summary

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.

Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She's forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn't enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What's a nice undead girl to do?

Love in vein: bite into more of Jane Jameson's paranormal exploits.

Fun Literature!

This is a fun book, with a great main character, Jane Jamison. Jane a newly turned vampire is learning to deal with her new unlife but she also struggles with her finances, family relationships and friends. Reminds me of Charliane Harris's books with a bit of Janet Evanovich style humor...in a supernaturel chic lit category. This isn't GREAT literature but FUN and entertaining especially with regard to the dialogue. Amanda Ronconi does a good job shifting voices and characters.

What a fun book and a great narrator!

I loved this book, even though I'd bought it with absolutely no knowledge of the author. I'm one of those people who do not like blood and gore, nor stories that are too stressful. This book was simple fun. Between the narrator's perfect rendition of 'Jane Jameson', our heroine, and the authors style of writing, there were times I was simply laughing out loud. In fact, I carried my iPhone with me all over the house as I did my chores, just so I could keep listening! Then it went with me in the car and I had a hard time turning off the story so I could work!

If you like a book with spirit and a bit of sarcasm, but very relatable, this one if for you. I highly recommend trying it for light reading as you drive down the highway. Or perhaps while lounging in the bathtub.. as I did. :)

In fact, I like this book so much I am buying the next one in this series. And any other titles she may have here on Audible.

Fun to read beginning of story

I am a Half-Moon Hollow fan, and I have always been curious about Jane. It is fun to read the beginning of the story. I look forward to finding out how these quirky relationships work out. What IS the deal with Gabriel and Dick, anyway?

Enjoyed it!

I didn't know if I would like this series by Molly Harper since I hadn't read anything else by her. It's definitely "Fang-Light" .... so if you're looking for deep story or intense scenes this isn't your read. However, if you enjoyed Mary Janice Davidson and her Unwed and Undead series you'll also enjoy this. Funny and enjoyable..reader is good too. I felt like she did a good job switching voices between all the female characters but might want to work on the male leads voice just a bit more. Other than that, very enjoyable... made my trips to work fun :D

Clever, quick dialog

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I loved the characters, the quirky dialog and the story line. It was a little sexually graphic for my tastes. Overall a great listen. Wouldn't recommend it for young listeners due to the sexuality.

Not really enough of a story for me

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Needs a thicker plot

Would you ever listen to anything by Molly Harper again?

Probably not

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't, but the performance was not the problem

Did Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs inspire you to do anything?

no

Any additional comments?

I like the Charlaine Harris books much better

Smart and funny - a very good listen

Any additional comments?

I don't know how I found this book, but ended up listening to all of them in the series I liked it so much. Jane is a funny and smart and old fashioned librarian. She rarely drinks and on the night she gets a gift certificate to 'Shenanigans' (her compensation package in its entirety), the amount is just enough to get her 'rip snortin' drunk'. Enter Gabriel. Yum. Listen on, I believe her to be laugh out loud funny.
In a world of smut, it's so refreshing to listen to a story that doesn't concentrate only on that aspect. Nice job, Molly Harper!

A little bit weaker than usual but still great!

I adore Molly Harper, even if this book had been horrible I would still buy the next one, and it wasn't horrible. It didn't have the same punch for me as her other books have, but that shouldn't deter you from this book.....It's like this one gets a 95% and her other's had a 100%! Still awesome writing and still a great narrator.
