Publisher's Summary

Just shy of her thirtieth birthday, Haley Carston returns to Redbud Trails, Oklahoma, to care for her dying aunt. She thinks she's ready for this homecoming. She's spent years escaping her perpetual shyness and being Katie Michaels' tag-along friend, but being back in her hometown brings back a lot of old memories, especially when she is faced with the cowboy she never forgot Katie's older brother, Maddox.

Twelve years ago, Maddox Michaels was supposed to be somebody. He had everything. A football scholarship. A Division I team scouting him. Maybe even a chance at the pros. Now, he's a burned-out cowboy working day and night to stay ahead of his brother's medical bills and keep their family farm from going bankrupt. And trying to be a father-figure for his niece, Olivia.

When Haley and Olivia start spending time together, Maddox can't help remembering those dreams that died alongside his sister. Will being with Haley open his heart to new dreams?

Sweet story.

I enjoyed the narration. The story was fine. Not enough drama for me. I would recommend this book for a beach read.

Great, quick read

If you love a quick read that will leave you going awwww, then this book is for you. Haley and Maddox both have grown up with parents that have left them one way or another and they have to pick up the pieces of what was left of their families. Haley's experience with Maddox was a senior prom date arranged by his sister which was also Haley's best friend. That was when they fell in love with each other but never acted in that love. When Haley returns to take care of her aunt, she meets Olivia, her best friend's daughter who is also Maddox's niece. Come join them as they begin the road to healing.

This is a cute, short, clean read

This is a cute, short, clean read that ends in an HEA! I actually listened to the audible version and it was only a couple of hours long. Not a lot of depth to the Story but perfect when you just want a light read. The characters were likable. The narrator did a good job.

Great read

Any additional comments?

Kissed by a Cowboy by Lacy Williams was a great book. I loved reading Haley and Maddox's second chance at love. Haley starts spending time with Maddox's niece Olivia, which gets him reminiscing about their time together and all the dreams he once had. I loved reading this book and recommend it to everyone.

Enjoyed the story

The story was good...sweet. I really liked the characters. I read it a while ago. When I got the chance to get the audio, I jumped on it. There are other narrators that I prefer, but Em Eldridge wasn't bad. Worth the read/listen!

Wonderful and Sweet Novella

What did you love best about Kissed by a Cowboy: an Inspy Kisses novella?

I really liked the development of the characters and didn't feel cheated just because it was short. There was some misunderstandings but they were resolved realistically. I liked the way Haley was encouraging of Olivia's dream and helped her achieve it.

Have you listened to any of Em Eldridge’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't remember listening to Em Eldridge before but she did a great job on this book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I really liked the scene at the cemetery when Haley was able to help Maddox and Olivia start communicating.

Any additional comments?

I look forward to more books by Lacy Williams.

A quick but very "sweet" novella

A short bit of cowboy hotness and ice cream sweetness...rolled up with the one who got away

First time for this narrator

This novella was pleasantly free from extended angst. Miscommunication was brief and overcome realistically.
