Publisher's Summary

He had one need.... She had one hope.... They have one chance.

Jace Johnson never thought of himself as a family man. He felt much more at home as a vampire raising hell out on the range. But when he met Miri, that all changed. Their relationship was forbidden and tumultuous, and it came to a gut-wrenching end the day Miri disappeared. When after a year of searching, Jace finds Miri in a Sanctuary enclave, he has only one vow: to take back what's his.

After a year of cruel experimentation by the Sanctuary on her werewolf form, Miri is no longer the passionate mate Jace remembers. Closed off and resolute, all she lives for is the rescue of the daughter Jace never knew they had, taken from her at birth by the Sanctuary because of her unique vampire/werewolf bloodlines. Now, Jace and Miri will have to overcome the tragedy of their pasts. It's the only way to save their beloved child from the deadly grip of a merciless enemy, and to reclaim the future they both desire.

Love in vein: listen to another Shadow Wranglers title.

Good story, great narrator

This is the best book so far in the Shadow Wranglers series. There appeared to be more attention to character development; with emotions better explained and explored. The tone of the book was not as "angry" as the first two, and when anger was displayed, it felt appropriate to the situation. The narrator, Tavia Gilbert, does an excellent job voicing this series. Each character is easily identifiable. I particularly liked her characterization of Jace; very believable. If Gilbert continues to narrate this series, I will continue to listen.

Outstanding Series

This is a wonderful series! All the brothers, thus far, are great characters and have a true love for family. I love the way each brother is so different from each other and the paths they travel to find their true mates. I recommend this series to anyone who love vampires, weres and a good love story. Tavia Gilbert is a wonderful narrator, Could not have been a better narrator for this series. Can't wait or the next book!

They Don't Come Sexier!

Jace is the third Johnson Brother, he is a hair trigger away from exploding, but I find him to be the funnies of all the brother. He loves with a passion and is very patient with the women he has been searching for. Mary is on the very on a nervous breakdown, although she still loves Jace, she is afraid to give him her heart again in fear of being left. It take a while for the miscommunication to clear the air between them and Mary to come around, but when she does, she does it in a big way. You will love this book, but in you must read or listen to the other two books before this one. Each book sets up the next.

Love this series!!

This may be my favorite so far of the Johnson brothers. Jace and Miri work through her abuse by Sanctuary vampires, kidnapped daughter and her believed betrayal by Jace. Can't wait for Shade's book!!

ANOTHER AMAZING WRANGLER

If you could sum up Jace in three words, what would they be?

Tall, hard, handsome

What other book might you compare Jace to and why?

Caleb - Love the Shadow Wrangler series

Have you listened to any of Tavia Gilbert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and this one is just as amazing as the others in this series - I want more

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yep

Any additional comments?

The tall, hard and handsome is amazing, but the protectiveness and commitment to mate zings my heart.

Book three, Johnson Family history...

Jace is the rogue, the third brother of the Johnson family. He is the smiling, easy going, dare taking, one of the family.

Jace continues with taking risks, irritating the truce between his family and the weirs next door. He has a secret, one he has kept from his family for over a year. Until Jared his older brother brought home Raisa. Now he has a goal, a drive that he must complete.

Another great book spell binding in its development, holding strongly to the listener, creating another great story in this series that is hard to put down.

Ok... what? Wolf or Vamp?

Ok.. I get Jace fell in love with a wolf but did he convert her to a vamp or not? I don't understand... I hate when I don't understand.... OMG! I so want to love this more... but I am so pissed right now.. plus when there are kids envolved... no no no.!!!! I just don't know about this series anymore... It is falling short more and more here. I loved book one... and I still have an interest in it...but dang it.. these brothers are really starting to make me made here. I love Jace new wolf pack though. Great action in this one... but too many damaged people!

Sexy and captivating

All I have to say is if you've gotten the first two books then you know you want this one!! I love this series. It's so good and I plan to get the next one. The credits I have used on these books are well spent. If you haven't tried this series and you like vampires then you need to get book 1 and enjoy the ride and continue on, it's great!

Not the same writing

I've listened to all of this author's books in audible. But this new series doesn't have the same rawness in sexuality and depth that her Hell's 8 series does. I've listend to the 1st 3 books of this new series hoping it was just me and things would get better. But no. So I don't think I'll be buying the 4th one. I hope, at some point, that Sarah McCarty returns to her same formula she used in the Hell's 8 series. But it's just a matter of taste, I think. If you want less of an erotic feel and much more tamer reading, then this new series is probably for you.
Regarding the narrator, I prefer those from the Hell's 8 series 2. But she certainly does fine with what she's working with. And does nothing to add or detract from the overall effect of this new series.
