Publisher's summary

Move over 50 Shades, there's a new romance in town. Superstar Wendy Williams brings on the heat in her first-ever, no-holds-barred, down-and-dirty romance novel.

Kimberly Kind is trying to get beyond her roots. A successful, beautiful, smart lawyer, she's finally finding direction in her life and getting out of the streets. But a terrible accident threatens to throw her carefully laid plans off course. Now Kim's hiding a huge secret…one that could threaten everything.

Enter King. A perfect mix of Justin Timberlake and David Beckham, the man oozes sex and has more swagger than anyone Kim's ever met. Their chemistry is off the charts. But after passion-filled nights, the intensity of their emotions takes both of them by surprise.

Love was not supposed to be an option. Now it's the only thing holding them together. When their pasts come back with a vengeance, can love possibly be enough?

Nice!

This was a bit ghetto, a bit class and a splash of erotica... but all in all, I totally enjoyed the story. "Ki-Ki Mi-Mi" or as the (h) brother Kent call her, is a lawyer (District Attorney) who ends up falling for a "white boy" named King. The heat between these two are hotty hot... but the mystery surrounding King...who is he, what does he do... how is he a gangster but live in the "Clock Tower", the most expensive penthouse in NY....

Eventually the book takes a turn as Ki-Ki's professional life crosses with her personal life and the end was well... Happy I guess... I am not really sure...

Worth a Sale and maybe a credit... there are a few racial words that some may be uncomfortable with...

Narration was actually perfect for this type of book...I really enjoyed it and felt wrapped up in Ki-Ki's world... from family drama then switching to the professional world...

A double-edged sword

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Although it was important incorporating how people act in the area where the story takes place, using the ''N'' word and the "F" word so frequently, made it slightly uncomfortable to listen to.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending was as if they wrote the book for it to be made into one of those films that some people watch once. It reminds me of the movie 8 Mile in a sense that some people might love it and some people might hate it.

Which scene was your favorite?

Kim 1 and Kim 2 at the coffee shop. How could you not want to see how this pan out, and the realisations in the book.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

If the story had a romantic ending, rather than an ending for typical 80's movie. Also I was unsure how I felt about the protagonist's feelings at the end of the book.

Any additional comments?

If you aren't into listening to lots of ''hood'' language or ''racial'' language, violence, drug abuse or anything that is negative at all, I would not suggest this book to you. However, if you don't mind that stuff, it is quite enjoyable.

Pleasantly surprised

I'm surprised at how good and well written the story is. The narrator was great and I was able to follow along with the story with keen interest. There were some surprises and there were times of suspense. Good job Wendy Williams.

Wendy did that!!!

A "something new" romance. I thought some of the decisions made by the main character were unrealistic for someone with a legal background....but books don't have to be realistic. Sexy, mysterious, surprising.
