Publisher's Summary

Olivia thought meeting her favorite author would be a fairy tale come true.

Declan Hart was supposed to be what dreams were made of - insanely handsome, wealthy, and a man who could make her melt with the stroke of a keyboard.

But Declan isn't the man Olivia thought he was. While most authors would kill to have his success, the envy ends there.

Declan Hart is broken. Scarred. A ghost of the man he once was.

Olivia Evans is the last person he wants to let in, but time is ticking, and Declan only has so long before he runs out of it.

One book could change his fortune, but this woman could change his life

    "Captivating Modern Day Fairytale!"
If you could sum up Filthy Beast in three words, what would they be?

    Steamy, Suspenseful, and Heartwarming!

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I liked Declan's character was a popular romance author.

Which character – as performed by Gary Furlong – was your favorite?

Declan! Gary did a fantastic job with the narration. He's has a great voice, and really delivered on the steamy sultry scenes.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! At four and half hours long, it was easy to listen to this story all in one sitting. Between the plot, and narration, it held my attention, and I never pushed pause.

    "Like Candy for your Ears!"
Where does Filthy Beast rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book ranks well above the average for romance novels I've listened to on Audible. Author Vanessa Booke is an extremely skilled wordsmith!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Filthy Beast?

Let's be honest here...from the moment Gary Furlong started talking I was hooked. I could listen to him read just about anything. His voice was seductive without being distracting.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Well I don't want to give too much away, but there's a point where Declan jumps into the pool and the description of the scene is perfection.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Filthy things live in all of us.

    Any additional comments?

This book was such a delicious story that had an actual plot and story line. There are so many books that are sexy and hot, but no real story there. This one had it all! I plan on listening to this again!

"Filthy Beast.... Gary Furlong you really are.."
Where does Filthy Beast rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 20, Gary does such a great job and the story is so very well written.

What did you like best about this story?

The love story, the beauty and the beast concept. Beauty really is only skin deep, and I loved how it showed how that applied to them both. She may not be the standard beauty in everyone's eyes, but she was for him, and she too saw his beauty.

Have you listened to any of Gary Furlong’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have and I'm starting my own little fan club, I love his work and I look for books that he narrates because I know they will be wonderful. I hope he stays on for the rest of the series, he has great range and draws the listener in.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A Filthy Beast That You Will Love

    Any additional comments?

I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series, and I do hope that Gary Furlong stays on board. This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review

This book has a great idea for a story line but I can't pinpoint how it fell flat. It is a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast which was one of my favorite stories growing up. Filthy Beast starts off interesting and intriguing but at some point once they get together it was just blah. It wasn't bad and I did finish the book but it wasn't anything that I think I'll remember a few months from now. I think it needed more angst and drama, I found myself not caring that she left and quite honestly I zoned out when it happened and had to rewind a bit. <br/><br/>This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Boom.

"A Delightfully Erotic New Take On A Fairy Tale"

“Filthy Beast: Filthy Fairy Tales, Book 1” is a modern and erotic spin on Beauty and The Beast with the beast being a bitter, beast of a man named, Declan. A very successful writer, now with writer’s block for the better part of a year, Declan is tortured by a tragic car accident that resulted in the death of his wife. The publishing house sends Olivia to his home. Olivia is not only a total fan of Declan’s work, but she has also secretly been his editor at the publishing house for quite some time. Olivia has been told in so many words that her job is riding on getting Declan back on track so she can’t just accept Declan’s initial dismissal of her.

Author Vanessa Booke fills the pages of her novel with plenty of passion and chemistry between Olivia and Declan as well as scorching hot sex. Narrator Gary Furlong does a wonderful job tackling Ms. Booke’s material. “Filthy Beast: Filthy Fairy Tales, Book 1” is a strong entry in this series. I can’t wait to see what fairy tale is retold next. Finally, this audio book was provided by the narrator at no cost in exchange for an honest review, courtesy of Audio Book Boom.

<br/><br/>Declan, the male lead, is a writer with a troubled past, when the book starts, he is having a difficult<br/><br/>time writing his newest novel and his publishing company decides to send someone to get him to help him.<br/><br/>He is selfish and is unapologetic about it. "💋💋 Hot and Naughty Fairy Tale 💋💋"

    Filthy Beast!!

♥ This is a familiar tale told by and written for adults. Vanessa Booke has created a wonderful and hot twist on the fairytale we all remember.

♥ Our 'Beast' is Declan Hart, an erotic romance author. Before becoming disfigured in a fiery car crash after a night of passion and drunk driving, Hart was the most devastating, beautiful man to exist. Now he has become a recluse with writer's block

♥ Our 'Beauty' is Olivia, a woman struggling to get by, after the loss of her mother and the confinement of her father who has Alzheimer's. She works as a copy editor. She is typically assigned her bosses responsibilities by her boss. This includes editing the work of Declan Hart.

♥ After Declan breaks a series of deadlines, Olivia's boss sends her from New York to Las Vegas to oversee Declan. Her job is to ensure that his latest novel is done on time.

♥ What will happen when Olivia meets our 'Beast?' Will the meddling housekeeper have any impact on her reclusive employer once Olivia arrives?

♥ I recommend listening to this wonderful new/old story, if you are a romantic at heart. However, if strong language and mature situations turn you off, you may be disappointed. This is not for the faint of heart or easily offended by swear words and erotica.

♥ If you fall into the first group, this is a simple and hot listen!

*I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review which you have just read.

    "Pretty Freaking Hot!!!"
What did you love best about Filthy Beast?

The title definitely fits the content of this book. Declan and his writing was filthy to the core in the best way.

What did you like best about this story?

It was a wonderfully hot adaptation of a classic. I was imagining parts of the classic while reading this modernized version and I was not disappointed.<br/>

Have you listened to any of Gary Furlong’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is a first for me by Gary Furlong, but he is definitely someone I will be looking out for in the future. It seems he has a bit of an accent that I like at lot.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The reaction I was having to this book should not be put into words. Let's just say that my husband was very happy with the outcome.

    "loved it"

This is the first narration the I've listened to with a male as the only narrator. Took a little getting used to but as the story evolved, I grew to like the narrator a lot. I understand there is another book and I look forward to reading or listening to it. Liked the Beauty and the Beast type story. Also LOVED the narrator's accent.
