Publisher's summary

Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they’ve fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it’s time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She’s having visions of a vampire named Gregor, who’s more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn’t know about.

Gregor believes Cat is his and won’t stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor’s hold over her. She’ll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she’s ever faced … even if getting that power will result in an early grave.

I love her books!!

I love her books. But the accents in this are horrible!! I had a hard time at first trying to listen to a story I have read many times.

Communication is KEY

Cat and Bones could have resolved some of the strife in this book by communicating with each other. In addition, Cat and her mother have been on the peripheral of the vampire world for longer than they realized. But it was still nice seeing Carly build other momentous relationships in this book.

Fabulous series

All the books in this series were spellbinding. I lost many a nights sleep listening with baited breath with each addition to this series and its offshoots.

Least favorite but still NH so still good.

I love this series. Its one of my all time favorites. This one though. I loathe.

Cats always been emotionally strong up until this one where she honestly just came across enragingly pathetic. Bones was 200% responsible for the issues they were having. While his responses were completely understandable, I desperately wished at some point she would've called him out for making her go through it alone and projecting all of his fear for her and stress onto her instead of being there for her and letting her do the same. He expected her to tolerate a situation that he never would. he then executed a plan that would absolutely destroy her without informing her about it....ALL OF THAT I could've gotten over IF NOT for the fact that after it was all said and done SHE WAS the one apologizing about how "stupid" she was.

One of the most infuriating things here though was ***spoiler****
When he got her from Vlads, he cheated on her by all appearances. She literally had zero reason to not believe he fucked his way through an entire city and instead of treating him how any strong normal woman would if her husband emotionally isolated her, left her during a horrible time in her life, and then cheated on her repeatedly, she behaved like a teen with a schoolgirl crush. She developed body betraying syndrome (which was always done incredibly vs it coming across enraging and pathetic as it does in most books) but this one... You're looking at the only person you've ever loved, who left you and blatantly cheated on you with dozens and dozens of women and you "shiver" when he touches you.

Not once did she confront him with all the fuck ups he was responsible for here. Again none of them were irredeemable. All of his actions were totally understandable and all could've been used for a solid reunion had SHE have confronted him once with his hypocrisy. While Cat definitely matured so much over the series, it seems like she progressively became weaker and not in a vulnerable way like book 2 where it's the perfect balance of strength, self pride, and vulnerability.

She reminded me alot more of the h from Vlads series instead of the badass, strong, I'll love you but you're done when you really screw me over Cat we've come to know and love.

Absolutely LOVE Vlad in this book. I really fell in love with him in book 3, but this one just makes me adore him.

Having said that, I still absolutely love this series and Frost is still once of the best authors.

loved the book.

another smash hit for Jeanine Frost. I've tried reading other supernatural and vampire books but none are as good as this series is in my opinion. I find these books rather addicting.

Always fun, exciting and sexy as hell

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would definitely recommend this story. It is very funny, intelligently written and suspenseful. I walk dogs for a living and the time goes very quickly while I listen to Jeanien Frost.

What other book might you compare Destined for an Early Grave to and why?

I would compare this with any of Kresley Cole's books, because her books are also very funny, intelligently written and suspenseful.

Have you listened to any of Tavia Gilbert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't, but I would compare her to Johanna Parker that narrates Sookie Stakehouse series.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, but that ok.

Amazing!

I haven’t written any reviews on this series, but has to for this one. The other books are great, but this one was the best so far. I couldn’t stop listening. I love Cat and Bones and love Vlad! I have read his story and he’s a way different character in these than in his own story. There was so much action and nail biting and twists, that it sucks you in. Can’t wait for the next book.

Cat & Bones ❤️

I have fallen in love with this dynamic duo. I’m so hooked on the book series, better than Twilight. I do have to say I missed the heated passion in this book, although it is there it just wasn’t as intense as the others. . All ready reading the next book in the author recommended order.

Ahh... Marital Problems...

I hated Cat’s rude sarcasm at times, and loved her for it. I had come across this series after reading Night Huntress World Series. I love the characters and it’s the reason why moving onto the next. At times I hated it, loved it; and couldn’t pause to put it down. Performance was absolutely fantastic for me. I didn’t start this book series in order; but didn’t hurt. It can be read as a stand alone. You’ll end up reading about the other characters anyway <3
