Good listen

I really enjoyed this story, I would not rate it as hot, more of a story - not erotica. You do have to suspend believe. I came up with heaps of ways the couple could have gotten out of their situation. But it was a compelling listen as I waited to see how it would end up. I will read and listen to more of this author.
The narrator did a good job as well.

Though my rating went down slightly since my initial read, I think that is just because I've read so many great books since then, and that is influencing my opinion. It is still a great book, but I didn't have the same history with dark romance back then. This book was more psychological thriller for most of it, which I loved, and had serious Stockholm syndrome on top of all the crazy. It seemed much shorter this time around, but I'm kind of glad about that, as I was mostly doing the reread because there is a character here (Richard) who makes an appearance in the book I'm about to start, and I wanted a refresher on him before jumping in. Pope and Demi almost had an instalove going on within the Stockholm syndrome, which I didn't love, but it works for their story.

All I have to say is WOW. Dark and creepy at the same time. Mommy in law is cray cray. This story is definitely different from other captive story lines. I wouldn't call the story erotic. Words can't really express what I am thinking after this one!

All new meaning to monster in-law

This was not what I expected. Neither good or bad, just very different. The story is original, I’ve not read anything like it before so that was enjoyable.
There was a little repetitiveness with descriptions but not too bad. Overall I think the writing was good.
Maybe I’m more twisted than most because I didn’t find this story to be too dark. It had moments but overall not really. The heroin is living in a paradise and getting it on with a super rich hot guy!

Great audible story

Loved this. This is the first audible thst I truly enjoyed. The narrator was wonderful.

Captive Vow

Captive Vow: A Dark Romance is a standalone dark romance. I love all of Alta Hensley’s books so far. I didn’t love this one. I wish I could say I did because I usually love dark romances.

Captive Vow is twisted alright a bit too much. It wasn’t the darkness of the book that bothered me. It was the twisted part that did. I will continue to read Alta Hensley books this book did not put me off from the author. It was just a miss for me. I got this book off Kindle Unlimited and bought the audible part.

A unique story

This one kept me in my toes in terms of the story. It was twisted and wrong but also so right. I wasn't expecting the main character to be such a good guy! Most of the stories j listen to have a dark, brooding main character and I enjoyed the characters in this. It definitely kept me listening and the end was not was I was expecting. Definitely worth it.

DISAPPOINTING

This book was absolutely unbelievable. What a waste of my time. Two supposedly 'sane' adults (and perfect strangers to boot) coerced into performing sex acts on each other by his mentally deranged mother while she watched...and they couldn't figure out to get out of it?!? So completely ridiculous.

Really I mean really

This is the most ridiculous and unreal story I have ever tried to listen to.
I couldn’t finish it. It was like every time I heard something so out rages I was thinking. What 13-year-old wrote this book. And how did it ever get into print or on Audible. Don’t waste your credit or money on this one trust me.
