Publisher's Summary

From USA Today best-selling author Willow Winters comes a heart-wrenching, edge-of-your-seat, gripping romantic suspense.

I should’ve known she would ruin me the moment I saw her. Women like her are made to destroy men like me. I couldn’t resist her though. Given to me to start a war; I was too eager to accept. But I didn’t know what she’d do to me. That she would change everything.

She sees through me in a way no one else ever has. Her innocence and vulnerability make me weak for her, and I hate it.

I know better than to give in to temptation. A ruthless man doesn’t let a soul close to him. A cold-hearted man doesn’t risk anything for anyone. A powerful man with a beautiful woman at his mercy...he doesn’t fall for her.

Great New Series but.....

I originally purchased this audible because of the narrator, Jacob Morgan. Love him! This was one of those dark, mafia, love stories. But be advised that there is a cliffhanger....I did not like the way it ended in the middle of an important scene. I can't wait to hear the next one. And please do not change the narrators.

SMH EMOTIONAL SADNESS

I didn't like this book not even a little. I didn't like how he treated her. His brothers treated her better then he did. There are other stories similar where The heroine is taken/stolen but not treated in such a way of cruelty. If you're sensitive to this sort of treatment of another person this might not be The book for you. If I'd known I would've gotten this particular book. For myself this book made me partly sad, and partly angry.

3 Irritated Stars

Well, not sure why this received so many 5🌟it was repetitive. It just did not go anywhere and I kept waiting, waiting and waiting for the real point!! It’s somewhat explained but it ends on a cliffhanger. I guess I’ll get the next book but not I’m not really sure about this series....

I can't believe I actually paid money for this.

I saw all the rave reviews and decided to buy this book. What a waste of money. Now I am a great fan of 50 Shades, Crossfire, etc., but this book was pure rubbish. I only listened to about 2 hours. It was the same thing over and over. Not much of a story so far and the girl is whiny and the guy is just a bore. So sorry I spent the money.

Overly dramatic female voice

I honestly bought this because of the author, but when I listened to the female narrator it was a no go for me after 10 chapters. The narrator was overly dramatic. I couldn’t stomach her narration past the first 10 chapters. It made me feel like I was listening to an actress from a 1930’s film where every word was given with a dramatic tone. I’ll just have to read the book.

Another dark intriguing alpha story

Really enjoyed this first part of this series, lots of tension and secrets in this story. I’m only a reader of such Alpha men but Jacob Morgan sure makes me want to do as he asks. I think he is becoming to really care for his songbird. Can’t wait to get into the next book to find out what develops between Carter and Aria.

Could have been a 5

Although I love Jacob Morgan’s narration, Savannah Peachwood’s voice drives me insane! Ughhhh! So whiny!

A 5 Star Blushing Book Review

Jacob Morgan was the perfect Carter Cross, his smooth authoritative tone portrayed his character perfectly. At time my skin crawled with his venomous tone, He narrated his dominant and dirty words with such an edge it brought me chills.

Savannah was brilliant, devastatingly brilliant. There was a desperation in her voice that captured me, you felt every emotion she portrayed. Her narration was spot on for her character.

Together this narration made the story come to life and I cannot wait to hear the next audio book in the series.
