Publisher's Summary

In the Ichidian Universe, The League and their ruthless assassins rule all. Expertly trained and highly valued, the League Assassins are the backbone of the government. But not even the League is immune to corruption.

Command Assassin Nykyrian Quikiades once turned his back on the League - and has been hunted by them ever since. Though many have tried, none can kill him or stop him from completing his current mission: to protect Kiara Zamir, a woman whose father's political alliance has made her a target.

As her world becomes even deadlier, Kiara must entrust her life to the same kind of beast who once killed her mother and left her for dead. Old enemies and new threaten them both, and the only way they can survive is to overcome their suspicions and learn to trust in the very ones who threaten them the most: each other.

great read, bad narration

Great book in spite of the narration. I feel like she could do a good job, but not with this type of book...

Loved it!

I love this book as well as the whole series! I can't wait for the next one to come out! There is so much emotion in all of these books. I enjoyed the audio version as well as the Ebook. This is a series I never grow tired of rereading and listening too!

Great performance

I really liked not only the story but the narrator. I felt like she didn't make the men's voices "weird" but made everyone sound like they did in my head. I really enjoyed her performance.

Great start to an Amazing Series

Would you listen to Born of Night again? Why?

Yes i would. I love Nykyrian's story, and Kiara is such a sweetie!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Born of Night?

I loved when Kiara went shopping with Nykyrian. It would be like a dream come true for most women. I also really loved when kiara was donating clothes and the donation people were snotty and rude about Nykyrian and Kiara let them have it!

What does Kelly Fish bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I am not a fan of kelly fish narrating this story. It took me about half of the book to be able to just hear what she was reading and not really pay attention to her voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried when Nyk dropped Kiara off at home. The book made me laugh quite a few times, especially with the guys protecting her at her home, they are hilarious when they are all together.

Save your money

The narrator is irritating to listen to, very weak character separation.
This author repeats her character traits , history and environmentally detail to fill the pages.

pretty good performance.

The narrator was pretty good, but a bit put off-ish she used multiple different accents for the different characters which is great but they didn't really match the characters. As this is the first book in the series (unless you listen in chronological order, then it's Born of Defiance) you will not have any other background info besides what is provided in the book and it won't relate.

All in all, this is a good listen with a great tortured hero and a damsel who can't help but need to be rescued no matter how many times she thinks she can take care of herself.
