Publisher's summary

Jace Riley and Audrey Mills had a tender and irresistibly passionate romance…until Audrey shattered his heart. Years later, she still can't stop thinking about him. They shared kisses that she'll never forget, and one brief, explosive encounter that she wishes she could. But no boy could rescue Audrey from her nightmarish home life, so she rescued herself, got through college and got into graduate school…only to find herself at the same school as Jace and his identical twin brother, Jaxon, who has his own complicated history with her.

It takes only one glimpse of Audrey's long legs and brown eyes for Jace to ache for her once more. Yet he's determined not to fall for her again. She ripped apart his heart and betrayed his brother…or so he thought. But what if Jace made a terrible mistake about Audrey? And what if he has one last chance to fix it?

So sweet

Just a very well written adorable tale of a boy who meets a girl. Just enough drama that you don’t get overwhelmed with the thought “just get together already!”. A good read/listen for anyone wanting to get caught up in some good emotions lol. Great narrative too. Keeps the voices very distinctive for each character. Loved it.

I can't say this enough

If you're writing about Southern characters get a narrator who can actually pull off the accent. I would have enjoyed this book far more if the narration didn't annoy me.

great story

If i thought Em had a rough life, I was wrong. Audrey had it much worse to me. The situations only seemed to get worse as she went thru life. Her reconnection to Have was a bright light, even if he was an idiot at times. It was nice to read about Em, Jaxon, Quinn and Cole too. Can't wait to see whose the subject of the final book in this series!

Narration makes a story

The narration for this book seriously hindered my experience. It was pretty bad, maybe for a dual POV, have a male narrator?

Narrator Ruined it.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

someone who can stand bad narration. I think the story line was decent but narrator sounded like a whiney mess when doing female characters and an old man when doing males.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Eva Kantor?

Just about anyone, but Joyce Bean, Julia Whelan and Kate Russell are a few favorites. a strong, sexy male voice, like Sebastian York's

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Story line was decent, but not consistent. I would have listened to the whole of it if I could get past narration.

Another Good Story. Another Bad Narration.

Another good book in the series. Like all good new adult romances, there was angst, emotional growth, and tender moments. Though I enjoyed the story, the narration wasn't the best. Still, I liked the story enough to jump into the next book in the series.

Awful but entertaining

I had to remember this was essentially a YA book, but the characters are all really dumb. I can’t expound without revealing spoilers. Just a reminder to try and help young people avoid the utter stupidity these characters displayed. The plot was decent, but the author lost track of the characters so much that they bop around like wind-up toys throughout the whole story. Also, it wasn’t the voice of the narrator that was bad, it was her delivery. Unless the author announced who was talking and from whose POV…they all sounded like monotonous baby robots.

So why did I finish it and my reason for 3 rather than 2 stars…the plot and most of the scenes were actually entertaining.

Dragging all the Way

This started very interesting in the very beginning but it took so many dragged out turns that it dragged the whole thing. I finished it because I paid for it. The performance was a screeching voice.
