Critic reviews

"With the launch of her new Lost Angels series, Killough-Walden offers... a sizzling novel populated with highly intriguing characters, not the least of which is the "villain." Good story pacing, believable characters and sizzling sex add up to an author and a series to watch!" ( Romantic Time)

Ok

The end was good, but the book kind of dragged on. I am thinking of getting book 2 just to see if it goes a little faster as the story is good, just a little boring at times

Interesting concept spoiled by flaws

I was eager to read this and so wanted it to be a good story but it was just so problematic from the beginning that I have to disagree from a lot of these reviews. First, before I get into the actual story, who edited this? One moment the big even they HAVE to go to is on Thursday, then it's on Saturday, then it's back to Thursday. BASIC EDITING ERROR. Seriously. And that was just the beginning.

The author established the heroine as a street-smart chick who's managed to evade an FBI-CIA style crew for a decade yet the moment she gets involved in the hot mess Uriel brings, she becomes completely clueless and continuously acts against character. A lot of her distrust is forced just to make the story work to the point that I wondered if she was just a brainless twit who thought herself a savvy powerwoman.

The archangels. Ugh. First, let's get it straight that 2000 BC wasn't 2000 years ago, nor was it when cavemen were running around - Egypt was in full swing and Stonehenge was supposedly finished by this time. Also, the Scots language developed about 1000 years ago give or take a few decades so having one of the angels speak with a clear Scottich dialect makes no sense - we all know you just wanted Gerard Butler to be in the movie. Speaking of accents, America is about a fifth of that age so Michael shouldn't be running around sounding like Dennis Leary.

Meanwhile, they behave like immature college guys who don't know the meaning of reading the fine print before signing a deal with the devil. I'd hope 4000 (not 2) would give them more brainpower. Oh, and because they're ARCHANGELS. Not to mention all the angels are amazingly perfect in every way and have a Dr. Who style house that spans the dimensions of space, manned by a MegaButler named Max.

I really really wanted this to be a good book but it had too many flaws and no meat on the bone. The narrator was okay but not great, and overall even the good aspects were outweighted by thte bad. Read Nalini Singh instead.

Weak, weak minded females not for me

The narration was pretty good, even the story idea was pretty good but I cannot take the weak female lead. How can you have super powers but be so weak minded? Why are they so trusting of the evil only to get in trouble then have the stunning realization they trusted the wrong person?! I couldn't even finish the book. The female lead and her willingness to go along with whatever Sam wants while fighting her soul mate the whole time because of female empowerment and desire for free will just made this book too hard for me to listen to.

Just OK

I started this series based on Gildart Jackson being the narrater. The story is shallow and far too much in the phrasing "his amazing eyes" every time a different character is speaking. Here is the story, an angel is looking for the one women meant for him and there is a meany that wants her too. Uriel is the main angel in this book and surrounded by his brothers who just stand around while Uriel's lady is kidnapped.
