I’m a sucker for Arch Angels

This book is so additive! I love both main characters. Both are strong and smart! The narrator does a very great job!!!

I am glad I bought the rest of this series.

First let me say the voice of Justine Eyre is perfect for this series she can pull off hard nosed and sultry with the same panache.
The developing relationship does not slow Elena down. Raphael makes a superb match for the hunter we learned to respect in the first book. Their attraction to one another has not dulled. I am enjoying getting to know the other Angels in this series and look forward to seeing them grow.

Amazing!!!

On to the next one. I'm finishing these books really fast. I have to. I'm obsessed. Later. I've got some reading to do.

Narration annoying

I wish I had stopped with the first of the series. The narration is just getting more and more annoying. Does this incredibly strong female lead really have such a wimpy, expressionless voice?

I, unfortunately, lost interest in the first half and it just seemed repetitive. Somebody tries or does kill/maim someone else, someone else gets revenge and so on. The angel premise is fascinating. I just wish the story was more engaging.

3.5 Overall

I thought the first book was pretty good, so in that mindset I went ahead and bought the next 3 books on sale. Now I'm not sure that I'm not going to regret that move. I'm having a hard time liking/bonding with any of the characters. Elena is probably the best one but it is so irritating when she gets all hot and bothered by half of Rafael's men. There was also so much sexual innuendo's/lustfulness that it was overbearing and the story lost the excitement one can get from subtleness. Don't get me wrong I like a sexy story but this didn't hit my mark. It has only been two months since I listened to the first one and already I have forgotten half the story, it was that unremarkable. Psy/Changling series is soooooooo much better.

Elena adjusts to her new life/world

Elena faces the changes to her body & how to use it; developing relationships with Raphael's 7 & many other adjustments with her new life & world. An Angel's plot to grab power brings home how vulnerable she is and the urgency in strengthening her body & fighting skills. Elena's relationship with Raphael grows closer. Lijuan reveals herself. Eyre is the voice of the series. Completely recommend!

YES!!! And I have :). Each time I read or listen to it I get even more details that I missed.

I love how the author has Elena slowly find her powers. Not just throw it in all at once and how she kept her personality as a guild hunter.

She did an AMAZING JOB on all the characters. She made each one have a major roll by how she made them sound.
