Publisher's Summary

Love can come softly, like holiday snow. Or sweep you away like a riptide.

World-class surfer Krystal Walters would have appreciated the beauty of her surroundings - a quaint cottage in a fragrant Portuguese olive grove - if a wipeout hadn't changed all her holiday plans.

Now, suffering the dizzying aftereffects of multiple concussions, she's determined to make it home to Rhode Island for Christmas, even if she has to defy doctor's orders. Except those orders are being enforced by Adolfo Silva. A man as arrogant as he is ruggedly handsome.

Spending every waking moment working to make the family olive farm a success, Adolfo barely has time to savor a traditional Feliz Natal. But the moment Krystal disappears under a mountain of sea water, his focus shifts to a sun-kissed spitfire with golden hair, sky-blue eyes, and a will as immovable as his own.

Keeping her safe is his first priority, but this bold, courageous woman's wings won't be clipped. Before they can plant the seeds of a future together, he'll have to convince her that spending Christmas - and maybe every holiday to come - with him isn't the end of the world. Because she's become the center of his.

Sweet Christmas Romance

This is a sweet romance set in Portugal. I always enjoy learning about another culture. The story is set around the Christmas and it is perfect for this time of the year.

Narration was well done and brought the story to life.

The main characters are likable and interesting. Krystal is a professional surfer and Adolfo is an Olive Farmer. Krystal is determined to spend Christmas in the USA with her father. But an accident brings them together, and Adolfo tries to convince her to spend Christmas in Portugal.

The story concludes with a HEA. I enjoyed the ups and downs and the second chance romance. It was nice that this is set around the holidays.

Sweet Story!

I enjoyed this sweet story and learned things about another culture. As an American I haven't had much exposure to other cultures other than what is in the news. This book is a great second chance at love story that features a professional surfer and an olive grower. The characters portrayed seem likable. I thought the narrator did a great job with the accents and emotions. This is a standalone listen and put me in the mood for the holidays and to experience other cultures. Sweet Holiday Romance

Pro surfer Krystal is competing in a competition in Portugal when she's taken out by a wave. She injures her wrist and suffers a concussion, and her doctor orders her not to fly until she recovers. Krystal is stuck in Portugal over the Christmas holiday, and stays with her cousin on an olive farm in the city of Evora. Adolfo, the owner of the farm, doesn't approve of surfing but is attracted to everything else about Krystal.

This is a sweet holiday romance set in an interesting location. I loved learning about the Portuguese traditions, festivals, and all that food had me hungry! Krystal is a strong personality, she's driven by such an intense desire to succeed that she ignores her injuries and sometimes common sense. But she's really likable, and her backstory explains exactly why she's so driven. Adolfo is sweet in both languages, and they're great together.

The narration was really well done, Allyson Voller performed a range of character voices and had a great accent for the Portuguese characters. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Sweet

A Portuguese Christmas
: Josie Riviera

This is a Christmas romance set in Portugal. The characters were engaging and each has a personality that keeps the listener wondering if they will get together or not. Learning about Christmas customs from abroad was a bonus.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Allyson Voller was delightful to listen to.

Sweet romance!

I enjoyed this audiobook very much. The heroine has a love of surfing, which I found refreshing. She’s in Portugal and falls for a man she meets there. I liked that there wasn’t a lot of gratuitous sex scenes and more of a plot. The narration was well performed as well.

Decent listen though room for improvement

This is the story about a pro surfer, Krystal, who gets cut off by another surfer during a competition and suffers a bad concussion while in Portugal. One of the spectators, Adolfo, witnesses the accident and escorts her to the hospital and basically ends up becoming somewhat obsessed with Krystal. Not in a weird, creepy way, but he's so enamored with her and keeps fairly constant contact with her throughout her recovery. Krystal has family in Portugal too, though she ends up spending the majority of her time with Adolfo. There's an attraction there between both of them, though both are fighting it, while still spending toms of time together. Krystal is determined to make it back to the US for Christmas with her father, though Adolfo is trying to keep her in Portugal with him. Though he keeps telling himself that he doesn't want a relationship, his actions and innuendos tell something different.

This was a decent listen, though I really was confused by Adolfo's attitude that he didn't want a relationship, while in the next instant he was telling the twins that he wanted her to be his girlfriend. Allyson Voller did a goof job narrating and I'd listen to her again, though I would likely look at a books reviews before listening to another book by Josie Riviera. It wasn't bad, but I didn't feel any connection to the characters and was sometimes confused by their seemingly contradictory actions. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.
