Rocky and Mara

Meet Mara, a young woman with a very complicated home life and a step brother, Sebastian that is coming to get her. In fear of losing her life, Mara escapes and makes a run for the hills, only to run right into the arms of Rocky, a secluded, guilt-ridden biker hiding out from his own demons. With Sebastian on the move, Rocky is Mara’s only hope for freedom.
This book made me want to take a drive to the nearest mountain. I absolutely loved Rocky and Mara! At first, I wasn’t sold on the grumpy trope, but the more I grew to know Rocky’s softer side, the more convinced I was that Mara was in good hands! Character development was a great steady pace. The spicy scenes were definitely muy picante. And the ending was a satisfying HEA. For me, the audible narration left a lot to be desired, but it wasn’t too distracting from the overall experience. I’d definitely recommend this to my friends and I look forward to listening it again very soon!

Great Story

Rocky and Mara will hold you hostage to the drama surrounding their story once you start reading it because once you start you won't be able to put it down. It is packed with nonstop action that will have your emotions all over the place. It is descriptive and has scenes that may be triggers for some.

Seeking Refuge

I'm really enjoying this series. As seems to be the norm, there's a lot of story in a novella length book. There are plenty of details in all the right places and the timeline skips are appropriate.

The other thing about this is that there are some scary things going on with Mara's past and present that come knocking on the Dixie Reapers' door.

I was disappointed that we really don't learn much about Rocky other than fate's ironic sense of humor that brings his past to his mountain. There are hints here and there to more of his past but that's it. Of course, I wouldn't give up any of the existing story to get it.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrator is Umi Markkanen. Umi does a really good job with all of the different characters.

Listening while stuck in the car with your family isn't advisable as things get REALLY hot! Like, squirming in your seat 🔥. Don't be like me. Listen in private.

Another Great Addition to the Series

This was another great addition to the DRMC series. Harley Wylde has provided us with endearing characters along with an engaging story line. The narrator did a fantastic job of breathing life into the story and made this as fun to listen to as it was to read.

Rocky

This grumpy mountain biker did not know what hit him when he stumbled upon her. Both are running from their past, but they have a lot in common. Although he wasn't looking for anything more but she's everything he had ever hoped for. Well done author Harley Wylde, and narrator Umi Markkanen.

Book 3

This is book 3 in Wylde's Dixie Reapers MC series and this is another great addition to the series. While this is a part of the series it can be read as a stand alone but is better in series order as repeat characters do show up. I so much enjoyed the exciting and suspenseful story of Rocky and Mara. An age gap romance that is well written and well narrated. Rocky is the alpha loner who comes to Mara's rescue and in turn she rescues his heart. Love this bad boy MC full of alpha protective guys and the women who capture their hearts!

Another great addition to the Dixie Reapers

Rocky and Mara meet after she runs from her stepbrother. Rocky's been haunted for years by things in the past and when he comes across Mara little does he know shes not only his future but she has information on helping him ease the ghosts in his past.
The narration is very clear and is at a good speed.

So-so

For a MC story this was a very slow paced and lacking of substance. The whole beginning of the story was about an older guy who was in the MC wanting to have sex with a much younger virgin girl. Then about half way through the story starts to pick up but only last a very short bit ND falls off again.
