Another hit from Taylor!

Big Dennis E. Taylor fan and have been for a while. I've been eagerly awaiting continuations of any of the 3 main series hes started but discovered he was working on a standalone novel and was a little disappointed. Now having listened to it my disappointment was misplaced. This books got the signature Taylor vibe to it, goofy but serious, funny, entertaining, lovable characters and is a fun light hearted story. The fact that Ray Porter narrates yet again just makes things alllll the better. I'm actually glad he didnt try and drag this one out into a series format because i feel it would've been reaching to try and get more miles out of it then it was rated for but i think he hit the mark just perfect the way he did it. It's kind of a first contact story in a way with elements from alot of different storys and nods to different tv shows and such, nowdays its hard to make a sci fi story thats 100% original but it is unique enough to make it stand out in my eyes and is definitely worth listening to. Sit back and enjoy. Taylor does nothin but win🏆

Can’t go wrong

It’s Ray Porter and Dennis E. Taylor so if you like the combo you’ll be satisfied with this listen. A fun story, a mix of Bobverse and Outland and Singularity Trap. Hard to put down.

"Flight of the Navigator" with 20-somethings

A fun little sci-fi romp that reminded me of the "found spaceship" movies of the 80's. Not as technical as Mr. Taylor's other works, but you definitely see his signature style thorought. Remove most of the cussing and it would've made a great YA novel.

Very Fun Ride!

I bought this book #1a for Ray Porter's narration, and #1b for Dennis E. Taylor's excellent storytelling. I finished the Bobiverse books a few months ago, and still find myself thinking about them. I have listened to scores of Ray's narrations, and they are always amazing.

I can't add much more that wouldn't be spoilers, so just give the book a read (listen) and have fun!

P.S. Small critique on the book cover: This story takes place in Ohio. When you see it...

A Trusty Combo!

Not Taylor's very best, he is my most favorite author, but a very satisfying listen regardless. Ray Porter does an awesome job as always.

Fun and entertaining story!

I enjoyed listening to this book. I wish it would be a continuing series but if it is just the only one it wrapped up nicely.

Please keep liberal, anti-God bias out

Another great story from Taylor but he can’t keep his politics and anti-God out of his stories. Only the “smart” people or heroes in his stories are left leaning and too smart to believe in a higher power.

Taylor and Porter are a great combination!

Taylor’s humor extends to all characters and their exchange makes Roadkill most enjoyable! Porter brings a unique personality to each character and enhances their interaction. A sigh or emphasis on wording and you feel the depth of character “friendship.”

Really enjoyed it.

Really enjoy Dennis’s delivery of a story and I’m becoming an addict of Ray Porters voice.

Outstanding storytelling

Don't expect quite the same level of hard science as the Bobiverse stories but this has some great ideas hiding as fiction. As always, Mr. Taylor writes clear, emotional dialogue that is easily relatable and stays consistent with each character. Of course, not nearly enough can be said about Mr. Porter's narration. It feels just like each character was written with his inflection in mind, making it possible to get fully caught up in the story and connect well with the characters. Awesome book! I've already bought all of Mr. Taylor's books and will HAPPILY continue to do so.
