Story
Never before has humanity existed in a culture that rejects belief in a transcendent power. Previous cultures - even when rent by disagreements - shared a common belief that a greater force stood above the material realm. But when one side acknowledges an ultimate source of truth while the other side denies it, debate is dead and mutual understanding is impossible. It is ordinary men and women who become extraordinary heroes in this the battle against Satan, explains Fr. Longenecker. Only by the light of our lives will we defeat this darkness. Debate and dialogue are now pointless.

Story
Today, far too many leading Christians water down the robust teachings of our faith. Ignoring Christ's clear example and constant demand that we boldly confront evils, they preach an amicable, nonconfrontational, feel-good gospel. Instead of teaching the faithful to edify and enjoin the wayward, they urge them to pacify and submit...with catastrophic results personally, for the church, and for society at large. This potent audiobook that shows how, by engaging in the lost art of spiritual warfare, good Christians can cure this trend and repair the extensive damage it has caused.

Story
The Psalms are the most popular, most universally loved and used book in the Bible, which in turn is the most popular book in the world. They are hymns, songs, poems, and prayers, both formal (liturgical and communal) and informal (spontaneous, personal, and individual); and this gives them many layers of meaning rather than one, unlike theologies and creeds. The Psalms are literally inexhaustible, so a new book of reflections on them is always welcome. Especially a book by the beloved, widely read, best-selling author and philosopher, Peter Kreeft.

But even so, he says he is firmly convinced that his fundamental approach in this book is still very timely and crucial for the spiritual needs of modern man.

Instead of separating faith from day-to-day life, mindfulness helps bridge the gap so we can feel the sense of safety and peace God intends us to have. Following the exercises in this audiobook, you'll discover how mindfulness can help you be more present to everything in your life from a trip to the grocery store or relaxing with friends to listening more attentively to a homily.

Story
This classic work from Thomas à Kempis, author of The Imitation of Christ, is now available in English for the first time. It is a simple truth that, without the virtue of humility, we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. It simply cannot be done. Just as pride is the root and source of all sin, so is humility, the foundational virtue in which all other virtues must be grounded if they are to bear fruit. Humility is the heartbeat of the saints. It is the virtue that conforms us most closely to Christ.

Story
As Catholics, we believe in the resurrection of the body. We profess it in our creed. We're taught that to bury and pray for the dead are corporal and spiritual works of mercy. We honor the dead in our Liturgy through the rite of Christian burial. We do all of this, and more, because when Jesus Christ took on flesh for the salvation of our souls he also bestowed great dignity on our bodies. In Hope to Die: The Christian Meaning of Death and the Resurrection of the Body, Scott Hahn explores the significance of death and burial from a Catholic perspective.

Publisher's summary
Fr. Dwight Longenecker asks: Are you disturbed by the state of our world? For most of us the answer is yes. The news reports fuel this dread. We see and hear the horrors of terrorism and war, crime, corruption, rage, violence, inequality, poverty, and attacks on human dignity at every level. We are in a war with evil. It's real, and it's personal. Here is your weapon, and here is a warrior to fight beside you.
In this book, you'll learn to pray the Rosary in a whole new way, battling along-side Mary as you pray the 20 mysteries. Each mystery is aligned with a particular evil, helping you focus on everything from abortion, murder, and genocide to materialism, illness, and disease to pollution, corruption, and abuse of the poor. Through Scripture, reflection, and 10 positive things to pray for in each of the mysteries, you'll gain a vision for how the demonic evils can be trampled down through prayer and action.
With Praying the Rosary for Spiritual Warfare, you'll be answering St. Paul's battle cry: Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the cunning schemes of the devil.

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations.

The Diary is an amazing narrative that chronicles the experiences of a simple, uneducated Polish nun who received a special call shortly before the outbreak of World War II. Our Lord appeared to her and instructed her to spread the message of his Divine Mercy to all, especially in our current age, which is full of so much distress and worldliness. The message of the Divine Mercy is that God loves us all of us. And He wants us to recognize that his mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon him with trust, receive his mercy, and let it flow through us to others.

My title explains itself. But it's misleading. There are more than 40 reasons. Each of my reasons is an independent point, so I have not organized this book by a succession of chapters or headings. After all, most people only remember a few big ideas or separate points after reading or listening to a book. I've never heard anyone say "Oh, that was a good continuous-process-of-logically-ordered-argumentation" but I've often heard people say, "Oh, that was a good point." And back to my main point: "Why are you a Catholic?" is a good question. A good question deserves a good answer.

The Most Holy Rosary is one of the greatest prayers in the history of the Church. Garnished as it is with the testimony of saints and popes for the last thousand years, the only greater prayers are the Mass and the Divine Office. It is a prayer for the people, to be said over and over, and yet many still seek ways to enter into the deeper mansions of spiritual richness to be found in this devotion. If you seek to reap the full harvest of this bountiful prayer, focus on the mysteries to better follow the life of our Lord through the eyes of Our Blessed Lady.

This was perfect
There are already a lot of Rosary books out there that are recitations of the prayers and mysteries that go with them. This book was unique in that it goes in depth about the meditative aspects of the Rosary. This was almost exactly what I was looking for, and precisely what I needed. Thank you so much for your wonderful example of the Catholic prayer life! :) Much love. -Seth

Dark Journey
Misery loves company. If you're miserable...this book is for you. My favorite part was when it was over.

Good for print, not audio
The format of the book is NOT suitable for audio. It is just prayer list.

Where is the Rosary?
This is a wonderful presentation of meditations FOR the Rosary, but does not include the Rosary. I assumed the prayers of the Rosary would be recited along with the meditations. Since you are listening, it is not practical to stop and start the audio to say each prayer. So, I would consider this audio virtually worthless as a method of praying the Rosary. Get the book instead. What a shame! How nice it would have been to pray this method while driving, exercising, doing housework, etc...when you can't actually sit down and read and tend to be distracted, this had potential but failed.
