Publisher's Summary

You were created for a purpose, and it's time to make it happen. Make It Happen is the story of how I surrendered my fear, took the leap, and got a life. In my case, a perfectly imperfect, fulfilling life as a mama, a working woman, and a grateful wife. This is the story of how I chose to make "it" - a greater purpose than mine - happen, and how you can too. Make It Happen is for women who find themselves worried, anxious, and completely overwhelmed by the constant chase for perfection those seeking the courage to jump into a new venture working women who are struggling to "do it all" weary wives and moms looking for relief from burning the candle at both ends anyone who dreams of a life lived not by accident, but on purpose. Your time has come to take a leap of faith. Join me as we surrender our fears, end the chase for perfection, and say yes to cultivating the meaningful lives God desires for us. You know all those things you've always wanted to do? You should go do them.

Inspiring with a very tactful approach

This book was much more than I expected. The author is also the narrator and she does a wonderful job sharing her stories of success and failures and how she personally learned to move forward. Casey really challenges you to dig at what is really down in your heart, getting at the root of your fears and hang ups. She gives you practical ways to tackle some of the most terrifying and intimidating things going on in your life and how to let God help you. She balances her action steps with scripture and offers many resources you can use (for free!) to help you get started.
This is not a book to listen to in the car because Casey intentionally makes it interactive-encouraging you to journal and write what's on your heart throughout the entire book. While I was initially a little hesitant, and quite honestly reluctant, I gave way and dove all in to Casey's lead. This process proved to be much more than I ever realized I'd signed up for. This book challenges you to clean out the junk clogging your heart from God and other important relationships in your life. Casey helps give you the action steps and encouragement you need to let go of whatever is holding you back, arming you with God's word, and giving you the direction and encouragement you need to move forward in everything God has called you to and placed on your heart.
Lara, I am very grateful you wrote this book, it found me right when I needed it. Thank you.

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The Format was annoying. Every 2 seconds you were told to stop the recording and think about what she was saying. Then she wanted you to go to her website and watch some video.

Would you be willing to try another one of Lara Casey’s performances?

No, I don't think so.

I can't finish this...

I read a few negative reviews but gave this a chance anyway... I should have listened to those negative reviews! I can't even listen to this book - she narrates like she's talking to children and then every couple of minutes says to stop the recording and journal/write about the topic. It's an audio book - I'm listening in the car.... Would probably be better as a hard copy book. I can't comment on content because I can't even tell you what it's about since I stop listening without realizing I've tuned out... I wanted to like it - I just can't :(

Believe

What made the experience of listening to Make It Happen the most enjoyable?

I wasn't expecting such a God-driven book, and although at the beginning I was a little taken back I was so glad I heard it. What a blessing. Eye opener. I am closer to my purpose and to God. Thank you!

What did you like best about this story?

I related so much to Lara's story even though our lives are different. Powerful.

What about Lara Casey’s performance did you like?

Her voice is calm and beautiful.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

A lot of aha moments and analysis.

Any additional comments?

Love the extras at her page!

Would have been a better read...

While good intentions, faith and positivity were not lacked in this narration, the authors voice was not fit for her own book. I could see her doing very well as a motivational speaker, but as an audiobook I felt like a preschool teacher was reading me to sleep. It was an actual struggle to get to the end of this book.

very, very, very christian.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

every third word is bible, god or Jesus. (And other religions dont really count) You will like it if you are a very focused christian. For me stuff like - "you cant trust your heart, you can only trust God and the bible." is really weird.

Which scene was your favorite?

The author is a lovely lady, great narration and I love her very personal sharing of her story.

Any additional comments?

please add some sort of code or sign in the audible shop to understand that books have this deep christian / biblical perspective and dont sell it as one of general motivational or sprititual books.

Boring , and also boring

Would you try another book from Lara Casey and/or Lara Casey?

Boring...it seems she is about to tell you something and then.....God this, God that .....I couldn't finish it....I wish something in the title or description will give you a clue that this is all about her love to God ...I am not saying is wrong , just don't tell me that for hours. Better title would be . My biography and my love for God.

Very Inspirational

I enjoyed the book. The majority of this book is on Laura's personal story and how she conquered her fears. Laura gives great action prompts throughout the book, but it's not until closer towards the end that Laura gives gold nuggets on productivity, accountability, self-care, and business. This book is faith/religious driven and perfect for those who are looking to renew their faith and take the leap.

I loved this book.

So often we only chase what success may look like to the outside world leaving is empty and alone. Casey's book is inspiring all of us to redefine success and look at our lives through balance and integrity. A must read.

Too religious

Was really looking forward to getting this seen alot on social site about it but i reached a quarter of the way through but couldn't finish as it was way too religious, God was too involved for my taste. Such a shame.

Life Changing

Thank you Lara for taking the time to write this book - it really is life changing.

If you want a good kick in the pants, biblically sound guidance in 'making it happen' and how to live on purpose this book is for you.
