I really wanted to like this book.

I have always been a fan of Maria Shriver and that’s why I downloaded this book. However it was difficult to get through, and it was more about parenting than anything else, and not about a meaningful life as the title suggests. There were lots of nice anecdotes and charming stories about her life and misconceptions we all grew up with, but there wasn’t really the substance I was hoping for. But that being said I did enjoy the ending of each chapter with the ”Dear God ...” prayer.

Too Much

The message is Very positive but Maria has the voice of a coach, if that what you need, then this is the book for you! I was hoping it was softer and more truly introspective. Perhaps too general, is why I stopped listening. But thank you Maria ,for thinking of me!

Maria Shriver and Randy Pausch

"I've Been Thinking..." is sitting alongside Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture".
I laughed, cried, smiled, and reflected and then I went to Amazon and bought "I've Been Thinking..." for all three of my girls (the last book I bought them all was the Last Lecture).
My 12 year old is almost done with it and I can tell she's getting something out of it. There are areas in this book that anyone with a pulse can relate to and I get a giggle every time my 26 year old calls me laughing and says "you SURE you didn't write this?". I'm always grateful to the people who take the time to write down my thoughts....LOL!

A must read for all

My first book by Maria Shriver and I love it.
This is a must read for every woman out there, I promise you, you will find a lot of take away and learnings from it . The book allowed me to reflex on myself, my shortcoming, my children, my husband and my role in their lives. It challenged me to reexamine my relationship with GOD.Saying those simple, yet pertinent prays after each experience was amazing and self-gratifying.
As I drove my oldest daughter to school in Massachusetts, I couldn't help but to ask her to listen to parts of the book with me on sibling relationships.

Thanks Maria for sharing this wonderful, yet meaningful life experiences with us. May God continue to bless you and direct your path. Amen

A book which engenders hope and peace.

This book was just what I needed as my last child leaves home. As a divorcee it’s a very difficult transition and Maria’s words always calm me and leave me hopeful. Narrated beautiful and hugely insightful.
