Story
For 30 years, Lynn Wilder, once a tenured faculty member at Brigham Young University, and her family lived in, loved, and promoted the Mormon Church. Then, their son Micah, serving his Mormon mission in Florida, had a revelation: God knew him personally. God loved him. And the Mormon Church did not offer the true gospel. As Lynn tells her story of abandoning the deception of Mormonism to receive God's grace, she gives a rare look into Mormon culture, what it means to grow up Mormon, and why the contrasts between Mormonism and Christianity make all the difference in the world.

In an increasingly secular society, those who have a biblical worldview are now a shrinking minority. As mainstream culture grows more hostile toward the Bible’s truths and those who embrace them, you’ll face mounting pressures — from family, friends, media, academia, and government — to change and even abandon your beliefs. But these challenges also create abundant opportunities to stand strong for Christ and shine light to those hurt by the darkness of our day.

With the story of her conversion as a backdrop, Rosaria Butterfield invites us into her home to show us how God can use “radical, ordinary hospitality” to bring the Gospel to our lost friends and neighbors. Such hospitality sees our homes as not our own but as God’s tools for the furtherance of his kingdom as we welcome those who look, think, believe, and act differently from us into our everyday, sometimes messy lives - helping them see what true Christian faith really looks like.

There are many things that seem normal or average today that at one point in time seemed absolutely crazy. Smartphones, Wi-Fi, and even the electric light bulb were all groundbreaking, history-making inventions that started out as crazy ideas. Our see-it-to-believe-it generation tends to have a hard time exercising true faith - one that steps out, takes action, and sees mountain-moving results. Many of us would rather play it safe and stand on the sidelines, but it’s crazy faith that helps us see God move and reveals His promises.

Publisher's Summary
“You have a call, Elder Wilder."
When missionary Micah Wilder set his sights on bringing a Baptist congregation into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he had no idea that he was the one about to be changed. Yet when he finally came to know the God of the Bible, Micah had no choice but to surrender himself - no matter the consequences.
For a passionate young Mormon who had grown up in the Church, finding authentic faith meant giving up all he knew: his community, his ambitions, and his place in the world. Yet as Micah struggled to reconcile the teachings of his Church with the truths revealed in the Bible, he awakened to his need for God’s grace. This led him to be summoned to the door of the mission president, terrified but confident in the testimony he knew could cost him everything.
Passport to Heaven is a gripping account of Micah’s surprising journey from living as a devoted member of a religion based on human works to embracing the divine mercy and freedom that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Have Compassion, Show Love
This book is excellent! I heard Micah’s testimony a few years ago and it was great hearing the whole story or as Paul Harvey would say, “the rest of the story”. And it is an inspiring story! It compels me to love my fellow man even more.
All Christians should read this book, as it is a reminder of how we should treat our fellow man. It was heartbreaking to hear how he was treated by many who call themselves Christian. Never pass up an opportunity to share the gospel of the Bible. You might be their only chance to hear the truth. And be prepared to give an answer for what you believe, and be equipped with God’s word to backup your beliefs.
Now, I’m going to read, “Unveiling Grace”, his mom’s book, who has an equally wonderful testimony!🤗🥰

NOT THE LEAST OF THESE
As I started this book, I expected to get details to a story I already knew the ending to. Imagine my surprise to find it was much more than that!
It has the elements of all the great books; mystery, humor, suspense, action, wonder and surprise with the added bonus of faith thrown in. A story that tells us all giving up the things of this world may cause us some discomfort nonetheless, with it comes a freedom filled with joy, peace, and companionship.
As the author reads the listener is carried away into this young man’s life where you find yourself laughing, crying, and feeling the transformation from this world to the world of Christ. Into the knowledge of Him and the reality that God has a plan for all our lives and if we accept that plan, we can live amazing lives.
God blessed Micah with many gifts, and it appears that story telling is NOT THE LEAST OF THESE! I pray his story will bring others to Christ.

Encouraged, convicted and humbled
After previously reading “Unveiling Grace” by Lynn Wilder, I was very excited to purchase this one as well. I was greatly encouraged by Micah’s story and hopeful for my family members who are still in bondage to their beliefs in the LDS religion. I was also convicted; realizing my lack of love, compassion and concern for their spiritual being. In the past, I have been very critical, judgmental & self righteous towards them. I was very humbled by my lack of compassion- It’s all about love!
I highly recommend this book to all. I hope to one day share this book with, not only my LDS family, but to all as The Spirit leads!

Masterpiece
Micah has articulated the Biblical gospel with a clarity one seldom hears today. The cause is the introduction of Biblical truth into a life trapped in a performance-based religious system. The way Micah has to work through the mire of self-accomplished salvation to faith in the cross of Christ alone will be helpful to anyone caught in a similar mindset, regardless of one's background.
It is not a book that confronts the specific issues of high-demand groups or Mormon doctrine or history directly. Micah's story--and the persecution he undergoes while coming to faith in Christ alone-- inherently delineates the difference between Biblical faith in Jesus versus the demands on followers within Mormonism.
Above all, Micah's conversion story is one of Jesus alone being exalted rather than great men and great deeds. It is a story about what happens to a Mormon missionary as He brings glory to the Biblical Jesus alone as Savior.

Captivating and inspiring.
The story line arch is unique and thrilling as you follow the author in the final moments of an intense interview which challenges his faith. He uses the premise of this main story to flashback as he recounts the unique events which lead him to finding the truth of Christ. This true story will offer insight into a Mormon culture mindset while inspiring and intriguing any reader to see the true saving faith that comes only from knowing the sufficiency of Jesus Christ alone. I love this book and story.

Respectfully written
I recommend it to Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses, as in some ways they are similar. It is respectfully written and does not contain much of criticism, rather reasoning for Micah's own beliefs grounded purely in the Bible. I wish more people could just read the Bible objectively without the lense of their chosen denomination.

Passport to Heaven
I loved this audio book, I received it on the day of publication. I finished listening to the book in less than two days!
It is the true story of Micah Wilder (also read by him), raised as a Mormon, while on Missionary serving for the Church he was challenged by a Baptist Preacher to read the New Testament, which if I remember correctly he did over 12 times!
His story is full of humour, I really recommend this book whether you want want to listen or read the book it is worth every penny.
