Authoritarian parenting is damaging and harmful.

Authoritative parenting involves clear rules, warmth, and adaptability to a child's needs, leading to positive outcomes. Authoritarian parenting, with strict rules and little emotional support, often results in low self-esteem and aggression.

The "Love and Logic" approach relies on punishment, which can cause shame and damage parent-child trust. Ultimately, authoritative parenting provides the best balance for healthy child development.

You’ll want to read something more helpful to the relationship and child’s mental health over a lifetime.

Two books I recommend are, “good inside,” and “how to talk so little kids will listen.” They provide valuable parenting strategies focused on fostering emotional intelligence and effective communication with young children.
