LOVE THIS BOOK! Heart opening!

This book opened my eyes to all the reasons I parented like I did. So much of myself was described in this book. Learning about the different “masks” and why we wear them is profound. Excellent, helpful guidance! Slowly but surely trying to change the way I parent. Many humans do not think this way and that’s why our world is so messed up. I appreciate this book being so straight-forward and informative from the psychology perspective.

Everyone would benefit from reading this book, whether you have children or not. This book helps one deal with their own childhoods and tools to parent yourself in ways you needed and were not. This will not only affect your relationships with your kiddos, but all your relationships!

As a new parent of 2 toddlers, always struggled with what the past allowed me to face. This book has been incredible to use as a guide to healthy parenting practices.

The book literally puts a mirror in front of you

Interesting how we like to find faults in others, the worst thing is when we do this with our children...we are not aware of how much we can do if we change our (first) reactions. The book is a nice reminder that we are often the problem and not our children, even though it's hard to admit it...Raising children is not easy, but we can make it easier with repeated reminders in this book.

I listened to this book to go over the whole thing once and I already had some amazing insights and implemented positive changes in my parenting.
