The Wisteria witches story

This one is more for a young person maybe 6 to 12 years old. I thought about not finishing, but I had already paid for them and had a long trip ahead of me.
The last book was a half book in the the wisteria witches series and was great to hear if you liked that series.
More for 6-12

* Up the listening speed of the first 3 books to 1.3. l found speed 1 too slow.
* lf you are already a fan of this authors current series, lower your expectations, the first 3 books are real early writings and probably stood up well as ebooks but not so well as audio's, personally l wasn't keen on the narration style but that's just my preference.
The next 3 books were a bit quirky and l liked the way they were written and presented. By book three l was invested in the story and really interested to know more about the main character and his head microchip.
The last book put speed back to 1. Now this book fits in well in the series of Wisteria Witches (which is a brilliant quirky witch series), but may come across as a bit snarky and negative. This is because it is the book where Zara comes to the self realization that her snide comments are not as always as funny as she thinks and adapts her ways.
Early books from an author who's books l love now.

Loved all the story lines and the author notes were an added bonus!

Ok I wanted to like it and it was ok for ear candy.
The first book I felt the equivalent of being Rick Rolled as it was one long set up for the old joke punch line “don’t worry we still have enough parachutes, he just jumped with my back pack.” That set the tone for the rest of the books. The rest of the books were middling at best, will not be looking for more in those series if any are made. This is personal choice as they were full of convenient outs for the writer. The best example is in the Ghost Hackers series, a child gets taken to a Renascence Festival and is 1) under age yet purchased weapons on his own 2) happens to have thousands of dollars to make Sead purchase 3) just happens to buy exactly what they will need to slay a monster “dragon” and save the day.
It’s cotton candy for the ears. Not substantial and gives momentary happiness then it is gone and you feel left wanting.
The last book in the set is set in the Wistaria Witches universe and is a pure side story that is not needed to follow the main story line. It just fleshes out Ribbons and a bit more of his personality and history.
