Publisher's Summary

The Tao of Seneca (volumes 1-3) is an introduction to Stoic philosophy through the words of Seneca. If you study Seneca, you'll be in good company. He was popular with the educated elite of the Greco-Roman Empire, but Thomas Jefferson also had Seneca on his bedside table. Thought leaders in Silicon Valley tout the benefits of Stoicism, and NFL management, coaches, and players alike - from teams such as the Patriots and Seahawks - have embraced it because the principles make them better competitors. Stoicism is a no-nonsense philosophical system designed to produce dramatic real-world effects. Think of it as an ideal operating system for thriving in high-stress environments. This is your guide.

Philosophy and History - Being (Re)Lived

I actually am way behind updating my Reviews. I completed this back in September.

After the first book, I started listening to the second volume right away. I am not disappointed. This collection of letters offer still relevant advice. Finding locations I frequently visit mentioned makes it even more a pleasure to read. You may not only find philosophy, but also history lessons in here. Keep listening and reading.
Mr Ferris and others recommend them not without reason and reasoning. I join them.

Audio is the best medium for these letters!

I've tried to consume the Letters from Seneca the Younger to Lucilius in multiple translations and formats, and for me these audio volumes provide the cleanest and most approachable translation. The narration, while not flawless, provides great value with sound rhythm and inflection.

Poor narration, very forced/put on

Poor narration, it sounds very forced/put on, as if it is a young person trying to sound old/dignified. Get the James Cameron Stewart version of Seneca's timeless works
