The Sunday Times number one best seller: as addictive as a TV box set!
After a tough week, Tanya Kaitlin is looking forward to a relaxing night in, but as she steps out of her shower, she hears her phone ring. The video call request comes from her best friend, Karen Ward. Tanya takes the call, and the nightmare begins.
Karen is gagged and bound to a chair in her own living room. If Tanya disconnects from the call, if she looks away from the camera, he will come after her next, the deep, raspy, demonic voice at the other end of the line promises her.
As Detectives Robert Hunter and Carlos Garcia investigate the threats, they are thrown into a roller coaster of evil, chasing a predator who scouts the streets and social media networks for victims, taunting them with secret messages and feeding on their fear.
AWESOME as always, love the Robert Hunter series and this one like the others did not disappoint
I had taken a break from the series after the last book as i felt the series was slowing down. I was on the lookout for a read and when this book was suggested i looked at the cover and noticed that Thomas Judd was narrating i was swayed into buying as I liked Carters earlier books.
What a return for me, this book is every bit as good as the earlier books in the series. The narrator on the last couple was good but Judd just brings these stories alive for me, he really brings Garcia to life and makes his such a likable character. Overall Judds voice paints the picture of Hunter for me.
Far as the book goes it was very exciting. Enjoyed this one so much. I usually listen to these books as work only tobut found myself listening through the car speakers on the way home. Story was paced well, nothing too predictable and found the storyline original too. Highly recommend.
Anticipating the upcoming new book. Cant wait.
I loved the story and the pace kept me reading as wanted to know. The last paragraph is brilliant.
great, chris carter at his finest,, cant wait till next one comes out! i can usually guess the killer in most books but this one left me guessing right till the end
My first audio book and my first book by Chris Carter, this one is truly a masterpiece.
Good book, brilliant performance and the the story kept me hooked, however, there was quite a bit of sexism. A lot of the detectives' passing comments made me think "Really?" but I guess that's just establishing character. The twists were interesting and I could not figure out the killer. Good read.
Really glad to hear Thomas Judd back narrating. I couldn’t get used to the narrator in the previous book as to me Judd is detective hunter and he voices other characters so well. Enjoyed the story, kept me entertained in long commutes to work.
Took me a while to get into and get used to the narrator and nearly sent it back ! But glad I didn’t as was hooked by the third hour and couldn’t stop listening. Very good :)
Im new to audio books. This was actually my 1st one. It certianly wont be my last. The bar has been set extremely high. Gripping from start to finish. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Couldnt stop listening.
The story was captivating, a thriller. The reader was excellent. I would recommend this book.
