An Amazon Charts best seller.

Emma's darkest secrets are buried in the past. But the truth can't stay hidden for long.

Emma is a loving wife, a devoted mother...and an involuntary killer. For years she's been hiding the dead body of the teacher who seduced her as a teen.

It's a secret that might have stayed buried if only her life had been less perfect. A promotion for Emma's husband, Alex, means they can finally move to a bigger home with their young son. But with a buyer lined up for their old house, Emma can't leave without destroying every last trace of her final revenge....

Returning to the shallow grave in the garden, she finds it empty. The body is gone.

Panicked, Emma confesses to her husband. But this is only the beginning. Soon, Alex will discover things about her he'll wish he'd learned sooner. And others he'll long to forget.

Scant on credibility.

When the narrator says over and over, “I can’t believe I did that,” the author should know the reader can’t believe it either. Add to that Knowelden’s breathy whispered performance, and you have a book that is very hard to get through.

Definitely worth listening!

As it was in the genre I like, i bought it based on reviews. I am happy I got it. Throughly enjoyed listening.
The story is very interesting. Even though the story gets a little predictable at times, I could not stop listening once I started. I am glad that its was not too long.
Will recommend to people with a liking for suspense.

makes you think

So often the victim gets blamed. This story makes you see how the most loving and understanding people can place the blame on the innocent.

Unique

It was good. The characters, their actions, and their motivations were believable. It’s interesting delving into the mind of a sick person who’s on the edge. The story was different and entertaining.

Wow!

I almost had to fast forward to see how this book ended when I was in the middle. I was in tears with how the main character was being treated. Such a roller coaster ride. The narration was also very good.

The Truth is Slippery Here

Finding the truth in this mass of lies and secrets is akin to nailing jello to a tree. Go ahead- give it your best shot. As for the silent victim? I think that should probably be plural: there's more than one victim here.

Sadly, none of the characters truly captured me. Emma's okay, but she's got tons of issues and she isn't being truthful. Her husband comes closest to being a likable and engaging character, but he waffles on everything. First, he decides one person is telling the truth, then he's all in favor of another person's version of the truth. It's hard to think of him in a good light when he changes his mind so easily and often. I will, however, give him credit for being a solid father and patient husband. He has dealt with many of his wife's issues and continued to love her. That does count in my book.

As for my overall impression... it was okay. The story keeps the reader guessing about this inglorious truth everyone is seeking. But for me, this was just too much like riding a roller coaster while a magician tries to distract me with sleight-of-hand tricks. It was just all a bit much for me.
