Totally WARPED Antagonist! Loved It...

I realize there are already quite a few reviews and this will probably be at the bottom but for anyone who makes it down here, for what it's worth, this is my opinion!
I thought this book was absolutely fabulous. The protagonist, Emmy Dockery's twin sister dies in a fire. Police call it a horrible accident. Emmy calls it a homicide. She's an analyst with the FBI. It take her over a year to convince others at the FBI that they have a serial killer traveling the country.
The serial killer is a really twisted character. This person mercilessly tortures the victims and then sets an "accidental" fire to cover up what was done to them. There is obviously some forensic knowledge. The killer is also keeping a diary of sorts for the police.
I really liked the way the perspective in this book went back and forth between Emmy and the killer. For Emmy the dialogue sounded normal. For the killer the self dialogue was really warped and kind of creepy (but in a good way for a work of fiction). If this were a real person I'd be putting bars on my windows!
The co-narrating with January LaVoy and Kevin Collins was excellent.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book.

RIVETING

This is crime/thriller writing at its best. Won't repeat what others have said better. I've found Patterson disappointing last few years. NOT THIS TIME. The Master is back.

Excellent as always

One of his best. The narration and performance was excellent and had a hard time taking off my headset. The ending superb. Can't wait for his next one!

Does a serial killer exist if no one knows?

This audiobook is Narated by January LaVoy and Kevin Collins. This book is a true suspense thriller. The narrative  between the serial killer and the FBI tells parallel stories that keep you on the edge of your listening seat. LaVoy and Collins crest unique voices for each character and you can feel the tension as they present the written word.

As much as I like James Patterson's series I like his stand alone books as well as any other thrillers. As a former Research Analyst (RA) I love the inclusion of the data collection and evaluation of clues by the RA's. Sorting through the haystack to find the needle takes a special skill and patience.

This is a story about a killer who doesn't exist, crimes that don't link, victims with no connection, in essence it is about the invisible. One victims sister is an RA for the FBI. As a twin she knows her sister was murdered. There seems to be no evidence so the hunt begins with a single RA looking for clues.

The twists and turns throughout this book keep the listener guessing until the final chapter. This is a quick listen worth every second. 

I purchased this book for my own pleasure and for review. It was a great choice.

sensational book from the beginning to the end.

Would you consider the audio edition of Invisible to be better than the print version?

I believe book would be great in print and auduio. By it being in audio you can truly visualize a movie unfolding.

The mere description of the killers personality.

I don't know if I've read a James Patterson novel recently; I like David Ellis. So this story I wanted to listen to. Two narrators, I like that, I've had that before. This one going on concurrently. The "bad guy" was very creepy, Kevin Collins did an excellent job. So excellent, I wondered if I could get through the rest of the book without listening to the bad guy chapters! The evil was a little too sick to what I'm used to. I started to cringe before the next chapter started in case it was the bad guy's chapter. HOWEVER, if you are as sensitive as I am, don't give in - you really need to listen to both sides of the story. I couldn't stop listening, this is a hold your breath, heart stopping, brilliantly crafted story. Genius bad guy, genius good guys. Makes me want to be a research analyst for the F.B.I.

WOW!!!

This was an exciting book, and the narration by January LaVoy is GREAT!!! The ending is a very nice twist that I didn't see coming at all. I great listen, and I highly recommend it.

WHOA - Didn't see that coming

I was POSITIVE I had the ending figured out and even then still couldn't stop listening. I've already recommended the book to every book reading friend I have that like this genre.

AND I was WRONG about the bad guy. I've already had to re-read the last chapter and making plans to listen to the entire book again. The narrator was excellent and the story line spot on. I'll certainly look for more books by Ellis and kudos to Patterson to find and coauthor with some good artists

What did you like best about this story?

It got me questioning what I was hearing. Why the bad guy was doing this or that. Is what the FBI knows right or planted to make them think it is.

Which character – as performed by January LaVoy and Kevin Collins – was your favorite?

I almost didn't notice that there was a second person .... That's how much I got into the story. It did help having two different people reading it. I can't say more ....

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Just what the title is.

Even though I figured it out who the killer was before the story told me I still liked the story. I don't normally like books that I can figure out before the end but not this one.

A Great Stand Alone Book!

I finished this book in two sittings. Typical Patterson... it flowed along fairly quickly. It was great to meet new characters and not be held down by a series. If you do not know Patterson's other series, and I'm not familiar with all, this is a great introduction to his writings.
