Book 1 of new Jance series

I've read all the Beaumont and Johanna Brady books over the years-especially liked Beaumont's tough gritty cop and if you haven't read these now somewhat dated stories, they are still worth perusing.

I was interested in this new series and thought I'd try the first..and found it very enjoyable, written with Jance's usual tight plot intrigues and containing sufficient side story arcs to keep my interest as I recover from surgery..audio books are the best things for recovering in a nursing home where you share a room-can't sleep? Can't keep the light on all night? Get out the iPad and headphones and listen until you do fall asleep.

I've already purchased books 2 & 3 in the series, even though there are negative reviews, I want to make my own mind up about it.

Reviews to come.

Light mystery

This was an ok book--good for light reading between more serious suspense/mysteries. It is worth the credit but certainly not the best around. I have read quite a few of her books in another series which I think I like better but this one wasn't bad. It took me awhile to get used to the narrator ( I thought she was going to ruin it for me) but once I did , she was ok.

Not Bad

I'm trying out new authors.
Storyline not bad, some interesting characters introduced, I can't say I loved the book and couldn't put it down but it kept me intrigued .
I would like to continue with the next book in the serious to be able to give a proper review.
I do recommend giving this book a try if you are new to the author.

Gun rhetoric was nonsense

Averagely entertaining murder mystery ridiculous gun law rhetoric. Common sense gun reform would NOT prevent any law abiding, mentally healthy adult from obtaining a fire arm for the purposes of self defense.

Very Enjoyable

This is a very enjoyable story with well developed characters and plot. Jance does a good job of creating realistic characters in realistic situations. I look forward to reading the next book.

Enjoyed hearing it a second time.

I enjoyed the story of a 40 something career women who was kicked loose by a TV network and an executive husband all at once. When her high school friend dies suddenly she has even more to deal with. She moves through her difficulties with skill and morality. A good read.
