Publisher's summary

North Korea has achieved a breakthrough with nuclear warheads and is about to arm their strategic missiles - weapons that could set the world ablaze. The Echo Six unit commander, Abe Talley, is ordered to take his men across the 38th Parallel. Their mission is to locate and destroy the nukes, as well as their creators. They must enter the heart of the most secretive, repressive, and brutal nation on Earth - and somehow find a way back.

The men of Echo Six, the elite NATO Special Forces unit, are no strangers to the shadowy world of behind-the-lines missions. But this one is different. Some say it is even a suicide mission. The action is bloody and explosive, and the unit is constantly savaged by an enemy that is both vicious and overwhelming. Yet the bloody expedition is not the only challenge they have to face. Treachery and betrayal dog their footsteps at every turn.

This is a truly thrilling story of vicious and cruel fighting, mixed with the politics of deceit and betrayal. A story that is full of explosive twists and turns, Echo Six: Black Ops 3 is a worthy, action-packed sequel to the best-selling Echo Six: Black Ops series.

An audio you can't put down

Tim made this an awesome book. His voices were on spot. Eric did another outstanding Echo Six. An in Infantry Vet. Special Ops are my favorite genre for books. Audio is my new go-to I enjoy them much better. This one is full of awesome missions that keep you fully involved in each character. If you have a chance to get this , it will not let you down.

Narration is bad

The narrator ( reader ) is very bad. Story holds up but the narration is very weak! The story would be more enjoyable if the narration would have been from a professional and not a simple reader.
Try to find someone who can make the story interesting !

Enjoyable Quick Read

Overall, I enjoy this series. The female main character in the first book was intelligent, smart, and didn't jump into bed with the main male character until they formed a relationship. She disappeared in the second book, along with Meyers ability to write about intelligent females. In this book, the female is suppose to be an expert in nuclear weapons, yet whines about every operational detail. Regardless of her childish attitude, the main character falls hard for her without any real relationship formed beyond sex. I really enjoy the friendships between the men in the group. It is very believable, the female....not so much.

Good book! Action Filled

What did you love best about Echo Six: Black Ops 3?

I like the action filled moments, like the fighting scene in the beginning with Echo Six in the enemy camp. I see a mix between American sniper and lone survivor type action scene in my head while listening.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Echo Six: Black Ops 3?

I liked how each character was described physically in such detail. It really gave you a picture inside of your head of what this group, Echo Six may look and act like.

Pronunciation of words I wouldn't understand. More exciting then reading it myself because of emotion in Tim Welch's voice.

Live to tell the story

In Depth, Informative Story- North Korea Military

If you could sum up Echo Six: Black Ops 3 in three words, what would they be?

Dramatic, Captivating, Rollercoaster

What did you like best about this story?

I like how knowledgeable the author is on current events. He did a great job tying in the story with current events. Meyers' knowledge really adds to the details and action of the story. I liked the details in this story. Every small detail is important because it makes the overall plot worthwhile.

What does Tim Welch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Welch's voice made me really feel like I was there experiencing the action myself. Welch makes the story believable. He has a very bold and dramatic voice which made me feel encompassed when listening. Also, Welch did a good job with his accents and impersonating Abraham and other army members.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me more interested than I am in current events and military operations. I do not really like books of this genre but the way the story was told and narrated made it exciting. The sequence of the book and how things played out kept me interested and wanting to keep going.

Any additional comments?

One thing I would change is the abbreviations of the weapons because I am not too familiar with military operations and things like that. There was a lot of terminology I did not know. On the other side of that, as a reader, I can always look up these types of things to better my knowledge and understand the book better.

I enjoyed this book and the narration!

This is my first military topic related audio book I listened to. I enjoy the details written by the author and also a lot of vivid details regarding the battles and important moments. Typically I am not very into military/war themed stories, but because this book has very independent and rich personality characters, it makes listening to audio books much easier; Although it could be hard sometime to catch on all those terms for weapons or special terms, it does not interfere with the understanding and experience with the book.
As for the narrator, although it is only one person, I was able to picture different characters in the books and also the sceneries of the book. This individual did a good job with expressing the emotions as well as the tension through his voice.
It is a good combination with the book’s content itself and the narrator’s voice. The overall experience is very dramatic, thrilling and also exciting.

Interesting War Story

Before I listened to the audiobook, I thought that it would be boring. It was boring for the first three times I listened to it because I am not interested in war books, and I am a visual learner. I decided to pay attention to the audiobook and listen attentively, and I began to enjoy. I have a short attention span, so my mind drifts away easily which made me start over at least ten times. I like how the narrator uses different voices to impersonate the different characters. For example, when the narrator says MARTA! MARTA! The narrator seized my attention, and makes me wonder who is Marta?

Honestly, the story was boring until the battleground. The battleground narration was interesting that I was eager to listen to chapter two. The suspense at the end of chapter two after the conversation between the sergeant made the story exciting. The narrator impersonating a young Pakistan voice at 37:46 is great, especially, speaking with different voices back and forth. The story became interesting around Dave death, the five children kalbi killed, and the innocent children who were the enemy. I enjoy fights, weapons, and action in the narration. The narrator makes it enjoyable, but I would prefer if the author made some sounds. For example, instead of saying “he shot him three times”, the narrator should say “He shot him, Boom, Boom, Boom three times” I enjoy the humor in the audiobook and the way that it is said. The narrator was able to handle the different accent and make it interesting.

Oddly poor narration.

Not a great story but not terrible either. The narration however was just comically poor.
