Publisher's Summary

A captivating psychological thriller from #1 USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Jaynes.

On Halloween night five years ago, Chelsea Dutton's college roommates were viciously stabbed to death, and Chelsea was critically injured. She was found hiding in her apartment's bathtub, barely clinging to life.

With only fragments of shattered memory, she's been trying her best to move past the nightmares ever since. Now in Boston, she lives a somewhat reclusive life, working from home as a medical transcriptionist and bingeing on mindless television shows.

She can't shake the fear that her attacker is out there, waiting to finish what he started, and Elizabeth, a nurse she met after the murders, is the only person she can trust.

When someone from her past reemerges, Chelsea starts receiving disturbing messages and worries that her every move is being watched. As the messages mount and her memories begin to return, she's led to a very terrifying and lonely place. But she needn't be afraid. She won't be alone there for long.

Foster families BEWARE!

First, I think this book could be made better, honestly it reminds me of a lifetime movie. So if that's your taste this book would be perfect. It did keep my interest but was somewhat predictable. I did listen to the whole book just to make sure and I was right.
The book is twisted with (Chelsea) one of three roommates surviving a night of terror almost five years earlier. She's become almost a recluse and now she's finally venturing out, started dating an old friend who just happens to be married now. And with her new desire to get out of apartment and start living she is now getting threatening letters. There are a few suspects and I am curious to know if other listeners found this book as predictable as I did.
I would recommend this book for a light read in between heavy more involved books.

Once again, Jennifer Jayne's delivers with a provoking, suspenseful story. I thought I had it figured out early on...... but I was wrong!

Disappointed

I had a hard time staying interested in the story line which has not happened before when reading or listening to Jennifer Jaynes books. I lost interest after reading 2/3 of book and did not finish. Maybe neither next one will be great.

Weak

Weak story, waste of time. Reading just so so...voices were odd for different characters. Plot was forced and unimaginative.

Disturbing but Interesting

I've seen a lot of reviews that boast that a look is like Gone Girl. This is the first I've come across that actually is reminiscent of GG. I think I figured out the plot twist about half way through the book. But everything is not fully explained until the last few chapters so buckle in.

Did not like this book at all

After the first chapter I remember thinking “Really?” (eyebrow raised as if not amused). But I was hoping it would get better if I just gave it a chance. It didn’t. I wanted to return it (I’ve never returned an audible book so this would have been my first) but I was halfway through when I thought about it. The narration was the worst I’ve heard. There was hardly a difference between the characters (both men and women) and the narrative itself to where it became confusing as to who was talking. The characters were underdeveloped and made you feel as if they were very surface like - didn’t let you get to know or like them. This is my first and last book I’ll read from this author. Sorry but not a fan :(.

Another awesome and intriguing novel by Jennifer Jaynes! Love it when you think you have it all worked out only to find your received another curve ball in the next chapter! I can guarantee the books from this author will not be another "ho hum l knew who did it and how it was done!" Characters and situations happen like this in real life! Curious? I was too - so I read it! You won't be sorry!

One of the best mysteries I have read in a long time. Never saw it coming. The author keeps you enthralled to the end. I would definitely recommend this book to all those who love a who done it.
