Publisher's summary

The murder was brutal. The scene resembled a slaughterhouse. "We need Nate Burns," Jack Mill said and set about getting the medically retired detective to Vegas.

Such a simple request will lead Nate not only on a manhunt across the country but also back in time 30 years, where he will struggle to understand the implications of the Cold War.

Book three in the Nate and Clare series finds Nate trying to come to terms with being medically retired from the department. Unsure who he is any longer, he hesitates to accept the challenge. For the first time, he's afraid he might fail.

Another amazing book

First I want to say I love the narrator's voice!!! Paul does a fantastic job in his books! Second I couldn't put down the Nate Burns series! I found myself laughing, getting angry, and curious what was around the corner! Can't wait to hear more from this author

What happened to some of the details?

I don't know if it's overly aggressive editing, production errors, a corrupted file, or some combination of these, but there are some important details missing from this audiobook, leading to some confusion and distraction from the story. One example of this is in chapter 4 where blood spatter is mentioned. These omissions are frequent enough and significant enough to effect the rating.

The story is well-paced and engaging. I really like the characters, especially Gabe. And Paul J McSorley's performance of Gabe and the other characters is outstanding. This series has a lot going for it.

Deserved Revenge!

Dance with the Devils by Kwen D Griffeth pulled me in from the very beginning. I so like the characters of Nate, Clare, and Jack. This book takes place after Nate is no longer with the police department, having difficulty with finding himself and deciding what to do. Going from being a very active man, to one with limitations would be a major adjustment. Nate's family support is awesome. This book touches on all that and so much more. The mysterious case of men being attacked is the root of the book. Nate's investigation techniques are really awesome. I loved the twists in this book, and really thought it was well written. The ending was brilliant! I never saw that coming. The narration by Paul J McSorley was outstanding! I love how he adds the right emotions to the scenes while adding to the book's enjoyment. This is a standalone listen and continuation of the Nate and Clare series. I can't wait to listen to the next one.

Great Book!

This was a good book and I would recommend this book to anyone. The narrator does a great job! It had an ending that I didn't expect. There was many laugh out loud moments during this book. "Beef cakes....lol"

Will Nate solve the case of The Castrator

Nate has been medically retired, after being shot in the line of duty. His computer-hacker friend, Jack, shows up requesting his help in solving a rather gruesome murder of a 'friend of a friend'. After some thought, and partially motivated to close a case, Nate agrees and heads to Vegas. Turns out that Jack's friend is the owner of one of the best casinos in Vegas, Roger Devine, and the victim was a beloved employee. Nate is paired with a rookie homicide detective, Gabe Monet, a very witty and unassuming character...and female. One look at the crime scene, and Nate just knows that there are more bodies...this is not a one-off murder. As the bodies pile up, Nate deduces that they are all connected, and to something from the days of the Cold War. Will Nate be able to close this case or will this be another one that 'slips away'? This book is the 3rd in the Nate Burns series and just as riveting as the prior books. The narration was on point!

Grabs you and keeps you

Dance with the Devils Revenge: Best Served Bloody, book 3 in the series, and I hope really hope there is more to come. Nate & Clare are so well written and with depth of character - that they've become like friends to me. Listening to them is like catching up with old friends.
I can't say enough good things about this book - it's got everything - the full gamut of human emotion mixed with many surprises, A 5* read/listen.
Narration excellent.

Another awesome adventure with Nate

Dance with the Devils Revenge: Best Served Bloody

By: Kwen Griffeth Narrated by: Paul J McSorley

Dance with the Devils is another awesome adventure with Nate. This is one man you can’t keep down; no matter what you do! I love him and his family. This time the tables are turned and Jack brings him into the investigation and this one is HUGE! I love how these mysteries are solved the “Nate way” and look forward to all his cases. Another huge 5 star book and I’m sure this will not be the last; I look forward to hearing more!

Another great installment

Here’s another story where Nate has evolved once again, and I’m left wondering if I hate this man or like him. His complexity only develops all the more with this story and is worth a listen. The narration was spot on and enveloped me deeper into the story. Great work by the author and narrator both on this one.
