    "Rereading the older books"
Where does Blow Fly rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Blow Fly is excellent just as the previous Scarpetta books have been.

What other book might you compare Blow Fly to and why?

Can't compare it to any other book outside of Patricia Corwell's Scarpetta collection.

What does Kate Reading bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings the characters to life and gives them personality. It allows you to form connections to the characters. I don't listen to the Scarpetta series if Kate Reading is not the reader. I will read the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Absolutely.

    Any additional comments?

The previous Scarpetta series that were not read by Kate Reading should be redone with her narrating.

I was waiting for the story to reach its peak. But it ended before it got really interesting. I will try another title sometime.

The reading and the story were great.
The problem I have with this recording is there are at least 4, 10 second overlays where they were edited together. One of the worst editing jobs I've heard from audible.

    "Lots of "wow" moments!"

I think Blowfly is one of Cornwell's best & narrator is outstanding!
The story was so involved & interesting that I had to stop listening at bedtime because I found myself just staying awake & listening! lol Narrator is SO talented! I was impressed several times by her "bayou" brogues & also the foreign accents - French, German, Polish, etc... very talented! After the ending of this one, I'm going to download the next one right now!

    Story
"My Last Cornwell - Can't Take it Anymore"
Would you try another book from Patricia Cornwell and/or Kate Reading?

No, the earlier books were great, but there were too many ridiculous story lines the reader was asked to accept. Benton's master plan coming together with minimal contact with the outside world, Lucy and Marino keeping the secret, even though two books ago they were just as devastated as Kay, Lucy and Rudy shooting up a boat/boat house without confirming who was in it, every woman Lucy meets just happens to be gay whether they are married to a man or not....enough. It's like the book is a first draft that was never edited or fact-checked based on previous books.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    I'm not sure.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    There really wasn't one.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The beginning scenes with Kay interacting with trainees/students was good. She seemed to really be strong and happy, more like the character I've come to know.

    "WOW"

At first I was so annoyed by the beginning of this book and Cornwell's change in style from her previous books (this one bounced around constantly to different perspectives, rather than primarily focusing on Scarpetta) but once I got through the beginning I could not put it down. it was an incredible and extraordinary book and her talent is beyond words.
