Story
For Mrs Pargeter, it is a matter of principle that she should complete any of her late husband's unfinished business. Amongst his many bequests, perhaps the most valuable is his little black book, in which he listed all the people who ever worked for him, with details of their particular skill sets. This means that whenever Mrs P has a crime to solve, she can readily contact someone with the relevant expertise.

There’s a literary niche for all tastes including those who think that either Agatha Christie wasn’t funny enough or that PG Wodehouse didn’t feature anywhere near as many baffling murders as he could have. Publisher's summary
It is her characteristic generosity rather than her love of animals that finds Mrs Pargeter supporting her friend Jasmine Angold at a charity reception for PhiliPussies, whose worthy aim is to rehabilitate stray cats from the Greek island of Atmos into caring English homes. But the evening is to have unexpected consequences. At the event Mrs P is taken aback to meet a woman who claims to be the sister of her late husband, the much-missed Mr Pargeter. This surprising encounter leads to unwelcome digging into past secrets, the discovery of a body in Epping Forest, an eventful trip to Greece - and unexpected danger for Mrs Pargeter.

Story
My husband and I are fighting for our lives in hospital after a terrible car accident. But despite my pain, all I can think about is what our families will find behind our front door. The scarf that has been all over the news, belonging to a dead young woman with honey-coloured hair. I have to speak to the police before my husband can. I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, but when I hear my wife talking to the police, accusing me of the murder of an innocent woman, a cold fear grips me. I know I’ve got a temper.

Story
The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. As I show her inside, I notice her eyes grow wide as she takes in our spacious hallway, and the big squashy sofas that we all used to pile on. She glances at the silver-framed family photos and my little daughter hiding behind my skirts. She looks at me, her blue eyes serious. ‘I’m sorry’ she says. ‘I am your husband’s girlfriend. And this is his son.'

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

This is a fast, fantastic read!
Simon Brett is amazing, these stories are engaging, entertaining, and addictive. Most importantly it's well written without being gory. More Mrs. Pargeter please....

Perfect for What it is
Completely contrived yet very satisfying, this story is the perfect combination of pure escapism and dry good humor. The endearingly strong and savvy female protagonist in her late 60's has almost James Bond-ish access to high adventure. The author's narration is priceless.

I love Mrs Pargeter
If you could sum up Mrs Pargeter's Public Relations in three words, what would they be?
Fun, fierce, feminine
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I wouldn't say edge of my seat, but well entertained
Which character – as performed by Simon Brett – was your favorite?
Mrs Pargeter of course. I'm so glad Simon Brett has reprised her

Love Simon Brett and Mrs Pargeter
Loved both Mrs Pargeter books that Audible has added to its library. Fun characters, and I love that Simon Brett reads them. How about adding my favorite one - Mrs Pargeter’s Package?
Also love Brett’s Charles Paris books.
