Publisher's Summary

It's not just a trilogy any more. In the fifth book of this popular series, Arthur Dent makes the terrible mistake of starting to enjoy life, and immediately all hell breaks loose. In short, it's up to him to save the world from total multi-dimensional obliteration, the Guide from a hostile alien takeover, and the daughter he never knew he had from herself. A tall order, to say the least. And one he's really not up to, thank you very much.
Don't miss the first parts of the series, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Darkest Adams Book

Any additional comments?

Likely the best written of Adams' novels, prepare yourself for the dark ending. Tight plot, excellent pacing, and truly a bummer. Loved Freeman's acting, would like to hear his candid opinions on Adams' work outside of the publicity he did for the movie.

The end....

Great story, however, was a little disappointed in the way it ended. so I guess I'm going on to the next book, AND ANOTHER THING.

Love Hitchiking

Hitchhiker is just plain fun. I loved the series when i was young. I read it in college, and again in Med school, and again when i started reading for pleasure again, and now I am going to listen to them all.
I cannot wait. I just wish Douglas was alive for more, but I am about to read Coffer's installment (or try) for a 6th book in the series.

Timelessly silly

Timelessly silly

Always funny to listen to the total silliness of Hitch Hikers Guide and it remains a timeless classic.

a real cliffhanger

I loved everything about this book except the ending. Adams wanted to but did not write the next book.. it is called And Another Thing, written by someone else. Hopefully it will clear up the mess!

Feels incomplete.

Normally all the books are great. This one felt like there were so many things left unfinished, and a very important character just gets forgotten about. It's his last book before he died so I'm not going to falt the author for it. Maybe the editors fault or it was just incomplete. The book does bring a new important character into the mix and also sets it up well for the last book. Though the last book is written by another author, it's done very well. Don't just end the story on the not this book leaves or the book before this one leaves. It's worth following through till the end.
