John Carter's book Mastering the Trade is a superb compilation of worldly advice and mindset, with regard to trading tactics and philosophy, that presented to me a good grasp of how a successful trader operates and thinks. Kudos to Carter for putting this all down on paper. A most enjoyable read.

Must Have This to Trade

This is best book on trading I have ever Read and Listened to. ( Period ) I have a small library and this book hands down for time we are currently living in is the Best.

Fabulous! Must read for all beginners!

All I’ve to say is that this book, John C., D Shay, Henry, really show that they care to educate and uplift the lives of others. Recently divorced (due to financial infidelity which I didn’t know was an actual thing), I can relate to Shays story, not directly but I get it!
John C! I sleep thinking of the ticks! - not that am obsessed!
To the Fibonacci Queen, your book is a must read, the golden ratios are a must know! D Shay recommended it based on her struggles.

Thank you all for what you do! I believe this will change my financial life after a traumatic divorce and a court system that didn’t protect me when i needed it most!

I have not finished the book but I noticed many people cannot find the PDF doc so I decided to explain how to get it. On a computer when you go into audible account; then go to library it will be in your library. From there you should be able to download it.

Great book

my 12th or so trading book in the past few months. This one has setups and hits important psychological aspects and overlaps with what I've already been working on as well. The author also recommends some other books that he enjoyed that I plan on listening to next ...

A 20 Hour(almost) trading book?

I wanted the title to read - “A 20 hour trading book, that I completed???”. Not to mention that I am planning to go a second round to start making notes of specific trading setups? This is by far the Most comprehensive trading guide that you would need to start and sustain a trading career. In addition to being that it is so entertaining that you are hooked for hours.

Best with Immersive Reading

I listened to part one of this book and found myself constantly rewinding so that one nugget of information after another could be filed away. When I got to part II and all the setups, I stopped listening because I was wasting the information and my time. I tried using the pdf, but still was looking for more. I finally bought the kindle version of the book and then read and listened each morning on while I was on the treadmill. This was absolutely the right way to read and learn this book. For one I kept almost complete focus on the book and really could absorb the information. At first I had seen the repetitive narrative behind each type of setup as filler, but the repetition prevented the need for rewinding but more than that the multitude of setups helped me not only understand, but they also clicked. I saw the underlying price triggers, could look at my own charts and see the setups. This book is almost as fact intensive as a dictionary…sure there are some words you know, but others you don’t. I have bought very few books that are this valuable…and in that respect buying the kindle version to boot is a no brainer.
This book is neither filled with gimmicks or bravado, in fact the setups include some losing trades. This book took longer to read than most because I was having a trading psychology problem in my own day trading so when the book recommended Letting Go, The Four Agreements and Turning Pro (which led to reading the War of Art) - I read them all. I also have the surrender excitement and trading in the zone on deck to read next.
Rarely to I give a non-fiction author this level of credibility. Sure if David Baldacci writes a book, I will most likely read it, but I have read a great deal of non-fiction books few have secured a high degree of trust as this book did in just a few chapters. The honesty combined with experience, success and humility make this book an absolute must. I know that I will re-read this book again. Likewise, I have received a great deal of benefit from the “detour reading” based on his recommendation. It’s the style of humble confidence that makes me want to keep reading, and in some ways aspire to emulate. I guess the quote that he includes by Paul Tudor Jones sums up my feeling “Don’t be a hero. Don’t have an ego. Always question yourself and your ability. Don’t ever feel that you are very good. The second that you do, you are dead.”
Being a trader is so much more complicated than the youtubers Lamborghini and mansions…I completely recommend this book as well as all the books the author recommends.
