🐩🇫🇷Fun with French Orphans 🇫🇷 ⛪️🌱🍃🌻🐶

...or are they just fabulously wealthy schoolgirls consigned to live forever in an old house (not a convent, apparently, appearances notwithstanding) in Paris, covered with vines, with Miss Clavel (who dresses like a nun despite being known as Miss, not Sister)? Either way, these little girls, especially feisty Madeline, are highly entertaining, and this installment not only features a dog, but also answers the eternal question, Where do puppies come from? The pictures are a bonus, despite being a little out of sync with the audio. Young kids ages 3-4 will like it best, but my 7-year-old grandson was entertained throughout. Grade: B+/A-

MOAR MADELINE PLEASE!

You know, this was a really fun little story, but certainly not the most famous Madeline story. But there's a reason Madeline has been such an enduring character, and this story, as short as it is, speaks to that. It's simultaneously fun, funny, and striking. The added artwork makes it all the more charming. So, yeah, moar Madeline, plz!

Where are the pictures?

We've been slowly going through and buying the books in the With Synchronized Images category. This one was placed in that category but doesn't show any illustrations other than the cover image - I wish we could get the illustrated audiobook version or exchange it for one that has pictures!

A joy to read for young and old

Where does Madeline's Rescue rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best that I've read to my 4 year old. Excellent story line with a wonderful narration.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Madeline's Rescue?

The part that my 4 year old repeats and laughs at is where madeline gets on a chair and defends her dog Mrs. Genevieve.

Have you listened to any of Pauline Brailsford’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time that we have listened to a Pauline Brailsford performance, but it won't be the last.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

We listend to it all in one sitting...twice!

Any additional comments?

We would love to have more of these types of audio books with just a bit more animation and the ability to read or have the words read.

Nostalgia

I grew up reading these books, and to have them easily accessible for when I’m nostalgic via audio makes me perk up with glee!
