True Christian Love Story

Loved everything about this book. It summarized the characteristics of a Christian. Also, how a man and woman should find love for each other that is not lustful.

perfectly done

I loved everything about this book and the narration. It was as if an elderly woman was telling the story of someone in her family--her parents or grandparents . My great-grandparents homesteaded in the plains of Nebraska and my grandparents told story after story of what it was like growing up during that time. This story brought back memories of listening to them tell about their parents and the neighbors that lived around them. As for the complaints about the speech patterns, I had a great-uncle who spoke in the exact same pattern of speech. If you are only a couple of generations from those pioneer days, you will love this book.

Awesome book AND narration.

Although I loved this in high school, I wept so much more now that I'm in my 50s. Life experience helps you understand and appreciate things at a deeper level, I guess. I thought the narrator's voice and speed were both perfect for this book.

True devotion to God and love

What made the experience of listening to Love Comes Softly the most enjoyable?

Knowing that the man in the story would remain honorable throughout and abide by God's laws and his new wife's wishes.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Love Comes Softly?

When Marty realized she loved Clark.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Used a more youthful sounding voice because Marty is a very young woman.

Who was the most memorable character of Love Comes Softly and why?

Marty because you could sense her growing as person in many ways and her discovery that God does take care of her even when she thinks He's not. But I found Clark just as fascinating because he was steadfast in his word to Marty about the train back to her home and his desire to secure a mother for Missy.

Any additional comments?

I am now listening to part 2 of the story Love's Enduring Journey and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Loves this book, but narration… not so much

This book series was one of my favorites as a kid, and I was super excited to find the first 3 free to audible plus members! Still love the book, but the narrator is an older lady and I think it was produced a while ago because you can hear her swallowing and drinking in between chapters. I understand that’s normal when you’re reading out loud, but I’ve never actually heard it while listening to an audiobook and it kind of threw me off…
