Publisher's summary

An FBI legend, a mysterious antiquities specialist and a brazen art thief draw top FBI agents Emma Sharpe and Colin Donovan into a complex web of blackmail, greed, and murder in the eagerly awaited new novel in the highly acclaimed Sharpe & Donovan series

Emma Sharpe is suspicious when retired Special Agent Gordon Wheelock, a legend in FBI art crimes, drops by her Boston office for a visit. Gordy says he's heard rumors about stolen ancient mosaics. Emma, an art crimes specialist herself, won't discuss the rumors. Especially since they involve Oliver York, an unrepentant English art thief. Gordy and Emma's grandfather, a renowned private art detective, chased Oliver for a decade. Gordy knows Wendell Sharpe didn't give him everything he had on the thief. Even now, Oliver will never be prosecuted.

When a shocking death occurs, Emma is drawn into the investigation. The evidence points to a deadly conspiracy between Wendell and Oliver, and Emma's fiancé, deep cover agent Colin Donovan, knows he can't stay out of this one. He also knows there will be questions about Emma's role and where her loyalties lie.

From Boston to Maine to Ireland, Emma and Colin track a dangerous killer as the lives of their family and friends are at stake. With the help of their friend, Irish priest Finian Bracken, and Emma's brother, Lucas, the Sharpes and Donovans must band together to stop a killer.

No one creates exciting, action-packed romantic suspense and international intrigue like New York Times bestselling author Carla Neggers.

Awesome series!

I have throughly enjoyed this series, so much so that I've listened from the beginning to current in less than a month! It's the family of characters that really draw you in. You might think to predict what could happen next with any of the characters but you will often be surprised. This review is for the entire series to date and each novel has positive and negative. If you prefer to find a great series, understanding how series flow up and down, this one is very enjoyable. Highly recommend!!

The Reader problem

I listened to the previous book read by Ms. Monda her reading was still a problem. The story is fine but Thea reader was very distracting for me. Everyone listen and hears differently, there have been quite a few books that others did not care for the reader but I did so...
Am reluctant to purchase the next book in the series, even though I like the stories, I was unable to enjoy Ms. Monda.

another great book in the series....

For me, the beginning was a bit slow, but then it pick up and as always the characters came to life, the story flowing to the finish. Finally the wedding? Did they get married or did something tear the two main characters apart? Won't spoil it for other readers. Can't wait for the next book in this series. Just love this series. Thanks to the author, for the enjoyment of this series. A beloved fan. Aloha

Sorry - Boring

What disappointed you about Liar's Key?

The entire book was boring, there is obviously something going on (which is mentioned) but with no real investigation into what it is, seems odd there was no suspense built at all. Something really off here and nothing to keep you guessing and the frustration with the characters was tough for me. These are adults and they are just weird so many walking on eggshells about how delicate others might be.

Has Liar's Key turned you off from other books in this genre?

It isn't the genre, it was this book. I've read other books in this series and they were not bad, but this was not entertaining at all.

What didn’t you like about Carol Monda’s performance?

She does the male characters better but the main character, Emma, she sounded stressed and miserable the whole time. Emma is getting married gut the tone of the narrator's voice has her sounding downtrodden.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Boring boring boring...sorry I used a credit for it.

Any additional comments?

Even though the series was ok for me, I doubt I'd read another from this series, just too slow with no real excitement.
